The Renewals Manager leads the contract renewal process from reach out to confirmation. A curious, creative problem solver, this person is responsible for securing renewals on time, identifying opportunities for account growth, and supporting the health of the account. This person picks up on customer concerns and connects our clients to the correct resource based on their need. They will be assigned a book of business based on factors including ARR spend, industry verticals, and strategic account expansion opportunities.  

They collaborate cross-functionally to support customer satisfaction, retention, and account growth. Renewals Managers respond to contract questions, requests, and escalations. Exceptional negotiators, they manage difficult conversations with tact. In support of company goals, Renewals Managers contribute to process improvements and supporting the team towards company success. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage contract renewals for assigned accounts. Drive on-time renewals, identify cross/upselling opportunities, and ensure an efficient process. Elevate customer renewal retention rates, both in terms of customer numbers and revenue. 
  • Effectively negotiate renewal terms, balancing company and customer goals. 
  • Respond to contract questions and manage escalations. Provide creative solutions to secure the renewal.  
  • Account Expansion 
  • Proactively identifyopportunities to upsell and cross-sell our products and services. Manage the handoff to the Account Manager and support a seamless transition for the client.  
  • Be knowledgeable about our products and use-cases for assigned verticals.  
  • Cultivate a genuine interest in our clients' industries, staying informed about industry trends and events. 
  • Nurture long-term customer commitments throughout the client lifecycle.  
  • Internal Collaboration 
  • Work closely with Success, Sales, and other internal collaborators to retain customers and support account growth. 
  • Minimize customer churn through proactive engagement and collaboration with the Success team.  

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field or equivalent professional experience in a related area.  
  • 2+ years in B2B SaaS contract renewals or similar client-facing role.  
  • Demonstrated success securing renewals on time, growing accounts, and retaining clients. 
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and collaborative team member. Track record of working cross-functionally to achieve company goals.  
  • Curious nature and ability to think creatively to deliver solutions and connect clients with the proper resource.  
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, quickly evolving environment with an emphasis on innovation and adaptability.  
  • Strong communication skills. Able to pick up on indicators, proactively manage churn risk, and tactfully manage difficult conversations. 
  • Effective negotiator with strong presentation and closing skills.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience supporting a portfolio of solutions in a product agnostic, acquisitive environment. 
  • Familiarity with one or more of our verticals and/or prior exposure to serving Fortune 1000 clients. 
  • Demonstrated success with an assigned book of business that is low spend, high volume; medium spend, medium volume; or high spend, low volume and named accounts.  
  • Familiarity with Salesforce or comparable customer relationship manager (CRM) system.
