Renewables Project Manager

MET Group is an integrated European energy company, headquartered in Switzerland, with activities in natural gas and power, focused on multi-commodity wholesale, trading and sales, as well as energy infrastructure and industrial assets.

The Renewables and Asset Segment develops, owns and operates a diverse and growing portfolio of energy assets across Europe. With more than 1GW of operating assets and a gas storage capacity of more than 5TWh under management, the segment provides a reliable, profitable and cost-efficient platform to support the MET Sales and Trading Segment through integrated asset optimization strategies.

The objective of the role is to drive and support the development and technical deliverables of MET Group’s Renewable and Asset Segment’s – with primary focus on Italy however with opportunity to assist on the Segment’s other projects in Western Europe - solar (photovoltaic) projects, provide coordination from project development, construction to the operation & maintenance of the assets.

1. End-to-end project management, with full accountability for construction budget, schedule, quality and successful delivery of the company’s Italian renewable energy projects, driving planning, procurement, construction and commissioning activities;
2. Leading tendering processes and negotiating, awarding and managing contracts related to the construction of the company’s renewable energy projects, while coordinating all contractors, suppliers, public authorities and service providers throughout the project lifecycle;
3. Evaluating and supporting the technical side of renewable energy projects’ business development activities;
4. Supporting the commercial and technical optimisation of renewable energy projects during construction and operational phases;
5. Analysing, evaluating and preparing the company’s business development projects for contracting and execution;
6. Preparing and analysing technical studies, assessments and evaluations related to the renewable energy industry;
7. Acting as the primary interface with partners, contractors, subcontractors, public authorities, permitting bodies, TSO/DSO and other key stakeholders, ensuring effective coordination and timely resolution of project-related matters;
8. Monitoring project progress against budget and schedule, identifying risks and implementing mitigation measures to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery;
9. Supporting and coordinating internal approval processes related to projects, investments and transactions;
10. Asset Management/ O&M tendering, contract negotiation and management;
11. Performance, KPI, energy production and revenue monitoring and tracking;
12. Performing any other duties and responsibilities required for the successful development, construction and operation of the company’s renewable energy projects.

• Degree in Engineering - preferably in Electrical Engineering
• Ideally 6+ years project management experience in utility scale PV project construction and operation in Italy
• Proven track record of successfully having built utility scale PV projects (connected to DSO and TSO networks)
• Fluent in Italian and English, any other European language is an advantage
• Ability to learn fast, with the mindset of „learning by doing”
• Excellent interpersonal and project management skills
• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time to plant sites
• Holding a valid driving license with category „B”
