BCA Financial Services, Inc. is seeking a full-time Remote Legal & Compliance Representative with customer service, call center, and medical collections experience. This is a great career opportunity for a goal driven person with exceptional communication skills and a positive attitude.
Summary/Objective:
The Legal and Compliance Representative (LACR) is responsible for carrying out duties associated with investigating and resolving delinquent accounts with consumers and attorney representation. The LACR will be responsible for monitoring and overseeing administration of electronic mail while supporting the Legal and Compliance team investigating instances of customer dissatisfaction, complaints, disputes and other areas at BCA.
The Legal & Compliance Representative will:
- Review and interpret electronic mail, update BCAT and FACs, and, as appropriate, investigate the facts relating to customer correspondence, dissatisfaction, complaints and disputes, document same and prepare templated responses
- Assist with handling and processing consumer accounts with attorney representation as needed
- Demonstrate and continuously keep current with a working knowledge of the FDCPA, FCRA, HIPAA, TCPA and other state and federal consumer financial protection laws and regulations as they relate to BCA’s operations and make recommendations from time to time on job aids and other documentation that may assist BCA’s workforce in getting their jobs done
- Develop a working knowledge of client standards and requirements
- Gather records from all relevant sources, including but not limited to client systems, pertinent to specific inquiries and matters; review them for completeness and accuracy and position accounts for appropriate and timely follow up
- Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, develop alternative solutions, use reason even when dealing with emotional situations
- Update BCA’s compliance management systems and database(s) with progress notes and other findings
- Review and analyze accounts by examining historical data, evaluating past efforts, using intuition and utilizing information received in a variety of formats (i.e. written, verbal, etc.) and from a variety of sources (i.e. consumer, consumer’s representatives, regulatory entities, etc.)
- Support the Legal and Compliance team as it seeks to answer all inquiries from consumers and attorneys promptly; attempt to resolve consumer concerns by inquiring as to specifics of issues and clarifying information where necessary
- Develop and update templates for use in communication with consumers and attorneys
- Verify and/or obtain updated demographics on each customer if and as relevant
- Use relevant information and judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with BCA and client expectations as well as all relevant local, state and federal regulations
- Communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing with consumers, third parties, clients, management and co-workers
- Update and maintain records of all communications, to include action taken and next steps
- Assist with internal audit in maintaining and identifying opportunities in gaps and risk to the business
- Assist with researching, reviewing and communicating regulatory changes that effect the business
- Assist with BCA’s licensing renewals by gathering required information to submit to licensing entities
Job Requirements:
- Minimum of 1-3 years of collections experience, legal/compliance experience or comparable complaint management experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Passion for customer service and ability to energize others
- Demonstrated track record of working in a team environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated flexibility to adapt to shifting demands and competing priorities
- Exceptional reading, writing and oral communication skills

Work from home requirements:
- Have a quiet and private workspace.
- High speed internet with the ability to hardwire via ethernet from cable modem to your PC. Must be a sufficient speed to support video/web/audio and voice-over-IP (VoIP) (at least 20mbs download and 10mbs upload). Wi-Fi and hotspots are not supported.
- You must meet all the technical requirements prior to the first day of training.
- You must live in one of the following states: FL, GA, MO, NE, NC, SC, TN, TX, or VA.
- We will provide you with the equipment needed to be successful.
