Remote, Contract-based South Carolina Insurance Defense Litigation Attorney Opportunity – 10–15 Hours/Week

We are a national network of experienced, high-level, freelance attorneys and paralegals who provide on-demand support for both short-term and long-term legal projects for our client law firms.

Our client South Carolina Law Firm has an opportunity for a qualified, experienced, and dependable South Carolina Insurance Defense Litigation Attorney to provide ongoing drafting, discovery, and litigation support.

This is a contract-based opportunity expected to start with a lighter workload and build to approximately 10–15 hours per week. The work will primarily be remote, with deposition and hearing coverage required as needed.

• Draft pleadings, answers, and other litigation documents
  

• Prepare and respond to written discovery
  

• Draft and assist with insurance carrier reports
  

• Provide deposition coverage, primarily remotely
  

• Attend hearings and other court appearances as needed
  

• Assist with insurance defense litigation matters
  

• Communicate regularly with supervising attorneys
  

• Manage assignments and meet deadlines
  

• Must be actively licensed and in good standing with the South Carolina Bar
  

• Minimum of 5+ years of law firm experience
  

• Strong insurance defense litigation experience
  

• Experience drafting pleadings and discovery responses
  

• Experience handling depositions and hearings
  

• Strong knowledge of South Carolina civil litigation procedures
  

• Familiarity with insurance carrier billing requirements
  

• Ability to work within assignment-level time and billing guidelines
  

• Strong legal research and drafting skills
  

• Highly responsive, reliable, and proactive
  

• Ability to independently manage assignments and meet deadlines
  

• Available for approximately 10–15 hours per week as the workload increases
  

• Willing and available to provide in-person deposition and hearing coverage in South Carolina as needed
  

• Construction defect or personal injury defense experience is a plus
  

• Experience with LegalX or Collaborati is a plus
  

Our Attorney pay rate starts at $80 per hour.
