Job Responsibilities
- Work as a team member in consultation with Corporate Reliability to develop, implement and optimize cost justified Predictive and Preventative Maintenance Strategies and Reliability Best Practices at the Madoc plant
- Administrate, maintain and continuously improve the Electrical and Mechanical Preventative Maintenance system to improve safety, product quality, production efficiency and labor/material effectiveness
- Maintain a thorough understanding of condition monitoring equipment, such as vibration analysis, ultrasonic lube, and belt tensioners, as well precision installation tools, such as laser alignment, and sonic belt tensioners, continue to develop and promote their use throughout Madoc’s maintenance programs
- Provide training as required to plant personnel on CMMS software as well as Work Management Process
- Champion the downtime analysis process to identify root cause and opportunity for improvement. Develop and execute plans to capitalize on these opportunities in a timely and systematic fashion
- Facilitate RCM, using FMECA’s to assess criticality ranking of existing Failure Modes, identify and design out the Root Causes of defects and develop Predictive and Preventive Strategies to reduce impact or detect defects early enough to correct before an unplanned failure
- Identify potential upgrades and improvements of existing machine components, parts or assemblies to increase life expectancy, and / or reduce maintenance frequency
- Evaluate justification of new technologies or inspection procedures to replace current instrumentation controls, sensors, drives, and other electrical components and inspection strategies.
- Assess and optimize the spare parts required to support the critical PM tasks developed from the RCM.
- Assist in prioritizing, planning, scheduling and executing of maintenance activities.
Qualifications
- Must hold a Bachelor of Engineering, preferably in Mechanical/Reliability discipline
- 2-4 years of experience in process manufacturing or industrial equipment design environments (Preferably with Maintenance)
- Candidate should have a good knowledge of total quality management - preferably with matching experience
- Excellent organization and documentation skills, and be fluent in written and verbal English
- Strong data analysis skills, thorough attention to detail, and understanding of Continuous Improvement techniques
- Proficiency in MS Office, CMMS (IBM Maximo), and various CAD platforms
- Experience with plant maintenance Planning and Scheduling, shutdown procedures and Best Practices
- Understanding of Total Productive Maintenance, Work Management, RCA process, PM & PdM strategies, Spare Parts Optimization, as well as tracking and communicating KPIs to influence adherence to Reliability Best Practices
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot mechanical/electrical components/systems, and their function within a process
- Demonstrated ability to lead and coach people on the above subjects
- Self-motivated, self-directed, able meet and exceed expectations and responsibilities while working solo or in team setting with little supervision
