About JetBrains
We create intelligent software development tools for developers and teams. More than 15 million users, over 300,000 companies, and 88 of the Fortune Global Top 100 rely on our products to solve real, complex problems. Our mission is simple: make development teams more productive and AI adoptable at scale.
What you’ll do
Our IDEs are built on a massive scale: a 14 GB monorepo with more than 500 developers committing code every day and hundreds of thousands of automated tests running to keep everything stable. Delivering regular, reliable updates across this ecosystem without blocking engineering teams is a massive infrastructure challenge.
That’s where you come in. You’ll join our infrastructure team as both a technical specialist and process owner for our release infrastructure, building reliable systems that make it possible to ship releases smoothly. You’ll take ownership of the CI/CD pipelines, optimize delivery workflows, and make sure changes flow smoothly from local development all the way to release. That's where you come in. You'll join our infrastructure team as both a technical specialist and process owner for our release infrastructure, building reliable systems that make it possible to ship releases smoothly. You'll take ownership of the CI/CD pipelines, optimize delivery workflows, and work closely with engineering teams to keep changes moving smoothly from local development through to release.
Day to day, you will:
- Design, configure, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to keep releases reliable and repeatable.
- Manage branching strategies, coordinate code freezes, and handle hotfix releases.
- Diagnose pipeline failures and resolve build bottlenecks before they affect delivery.
- Automate repetitive release tasks and improve YouTrack workflows for better issue tracking.
- Gather requirements from development teams to turn pain points into smooth tooling improvements.
- Communicate process changes to stakeholders and support teams through transitions.
- Lead retrospectives after incidents to continuously refine our release process.
What you’ll bring
- Curiosity and a systematic approach to solving complex infrastructure problems.
- Clear communication skills to collaborate with multiple engineering teams.
- A strong drive to automate manual tasks and remove friction for fellow developers.
- Comfort taking ownership of release decisions and managing trade-offs under deadline constraints.
- Pragmatism when prioritizing build stability, release speed, and developer experience.
What you’ll need
- Proven hands-on experience building, maintaining, and troubleshooting CI/CD pipelines (e.g., TeamCity, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar).
- Fluency in Kotlin or Java.
- Practical experience working with Gradle or similar build systems.
- Familiarity with Linux environments and shell scripting.
- Proficiency Experience using issue tracking tools like YouTrack or Jira to manage workflows.
- Professional fluency in written and spoken English.
- Experience with large-scale monorepo builds, the JetBrains toolchain (TeamCity, YouTrack), plugin compatibility testing, or multi-product release pipelines are pluses.
What success looks like
You earn the trust of our engineering teams by making releases predictable, smooth, invisible, and stress-free. Pipelines run efficiently, failures are diagnosed quickly, and repetitive tasks are continuously automated away. Developers across the IDE department can focus on building great features, confident that the delivery pipeline behind them is rock-solid.
