Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Release DevSecOps Engineer to support a government contract delivering secure, scalable, and compliant software solutions. The ideal candidate has experience with automated CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, security integration, and release management within a DevSecOps framework. You will collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to ensure rapid, secure, and reliable software delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines for application builds, tests, and deployments.
  • Integrate security practices into development pipelines (DevSecOps) including vulnerability scanning, secrets management, and policy enforcement.
  • Manage cloud infrastructure environments within AWS and automate provisioning using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, and Ansibles.
  • Support release planning, versioning, and deployment of software across multiple environments (dev, test, staging, production).
  • Collaborate with developers, QA, product owners, and system engineers to ensure smooth and secure software releases.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize application testing pipelines, deployment processes and infrastructure performance.
  • Ensure compliance with government security standards (NIST, FedRAMP, DISA STIGs) and audit requirements.
  • Maintain documentation for release processes, pipeline configurations, and operational procedures.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, retrospectives, and release readiness reviews.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • 3–5 years of experience in DevOps, DevSecOps, or Release Engineering roles.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Bamboo, or similar).Proficiency with version control systems (Git) and branching strategies.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS) and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, and Fargate).
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible).
  • Understanding of security best practices and DevSecOps principles.
  • Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies in a government or regulated environment.
  • Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
  • US Citizenship or Permanent Residency required.
  • Must reside in the Continental US.
  • Depending on the government agency, specific requirements may include a public trust background check.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting state federal government IT programs specifically within CMS or health industry.
  • Experience implementing automated security testing in CI/CD pipelines (SAST, DAST, dependency scanning).
  • Knowledge of compliance frameworks (NIST, FedRAMP, CIS Benchmarks, DISA STIGs).
  • Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
  • Experience supporting MongoDB Atlas.
  • Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), Certified Jenkins Engineer, or Security+.
