Join a high-impact modernization program migrating APAC Local Regulatory Reporting from legacy platforms to the Databricks Lakehouse, improving control, transparency, and speed to regulatory change. You’ll own outcomes end-to-end—from requirement intake to regulator-ready reporting logic—using modern tools and strong stakeholder partnership.
As an Associate in the APAC Finance Projects team, you will partner with APAC Senior Financial Officers, Legal Entity Controllers, and Corporate Technology to deliver strategic regulatory reporting platforms and respond to regulatory change, business growth, GL optimization, modernization, and global data alignment. This hybrid Product Owner / Business Analyst role owns the backlog and translates APAC regulatory requirements into clear, testable deliverables across Medallion layers (Bronze/Silver/Gold). You will drive UAT and quality gates to ensure regulator-ready outcomes and enable self-service analytics through governed Genie spaces.
Job responsibilities:
- Own product vision, roadmap, outcomes, and governance for APAC local regulatory reporting modernization on Databricks; manage intake, prioritization, and change control.
- Own and prioritize the backlog (epics/features/user stories), define MVP scope, sequence delivery, and drive trade-offs across regulatory change and strategic modernization.
- Translate regulatory circulars and business rules into clear, testable deliverables (BRD/IA, functional specs, Jira epics/user stories) and lead UAT with Finance and Technology.
- Define and implement Medallion reporting logic and controls: Bronze (raw ingestion/audit preservation), Silver (dedupe/standardize/join), Gold (regulator-ready rules and submission aggregations).
- Own end-to-end lineage Gold → Silver → Bronze → Source in Unity Catalog; implement validation controls and pre-submission quality gates (including anomaly/outlier detection).
- Configure and maintain governed Genie spaces on Gold datasets with guard-railed instructions and certified example queries to enable self-service.
- Use VS Code and GitHub Copilot (Agent Mode) to accelerate requirements extraction from regulator PDFs, mapping/join logic, rule definition, expected results, and UAT validation, with human-in-the-loop controls.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business data analytics, or a related discipline.
- 6+ years of project management and/or business analysis experience within financial services.
- 3+ years delivering APAC local regulatory reporting automation for a bank.
- Demonstrated experience owning a product backlog (epics/features/user stories), prioritization, and delivery governance.
- Strong ability to translate regulatory requirements into functional specifications and testable acceptance criteria.
- Proven UAT leadership, including test planning, expected results definition, defect triage, and sign-off management.
- Hands-on experience with Databricks SQL and Unity Catalog (lineage/governance concepts and implementation).
- Stakeholder management strength across Finance, Technology, and senior governance forums; clear written and verbal communication.
- Experience working with onshore/offshore delivery teams and driving outcomes under tight deadlines.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Hands-on experience with Databricks Genie and implementing governed self-service patterns.
- Familiarity with regulatory reporting platforms (e.g., Nasdaq Axiom, Wolters Kluwer, Reveleus, Resoft) and last-mile reporting automation/implementation.
- Databricks certification (Data Analyst Associate, Data Engineer Associate, or Generative AI Engineer Associate).
- GitHub certification (e.g., GitHub Foundations, GitHub Actions) and/or formal Copilot training/enablement.
- 2+ years production, hands-on experience delivering end-to-end requirements and/or testing using Unity Catalog + Genie + Copilot Agent Mode in banking.
