Communications lead and program strategist responsible for the regulatory communications strategy, including oversight of all communications deliverables, measurement, and continued improvement. Creates and implements effective communication strategies and plans that measurably advance desired business outcomes.
The role supports the Workplace Solutions business which provides investment solutions and services to meet the needs of employers offering company-sponsored retirement plans and to improve the financial well-being of millions of investors. This role is critical to ensure proactive and timely communications to Workplace Solutions audiences on regulatory topics to reduce risk and ensure client preparedness.
What you'll do:
Responsible for regulatory communications strategy, execution, and measurement for Workplace Solutions.
Write client-facing materials designed to help plan sponsors and consultants understand regulatory news and initiatives to remain in compliance.
Create effective and compelling communications based on deep understanding of target audience and the broader operating environment to maximize business outcomes.
Primary owner of all SECURE 2.0 communications, including strategic planning.
Develop and lead the execution of both internal and external regulatory communications, including roadmap, and prioritization for internal and external audiences.
Consult with key internal partners to develop communications solutions that drive identified outcomes. Translate business strategies and initiatives into messaging and content.
Drive the execution of all phases of the communications process, including conception, implementation, and measurement. Leads day-to-day communications deliverables.
Create communications that enable and equip client-facing crew to discuss regulatory matters with clients with confidence (e.g., send text, positioning, discussion guides, FAQs, videos, etc.)
Establish strong partnerships with business partners across Workplace Solutions and Marketing to effectively execute priorities. Partner with key business stakeholders and regulatory SMEs to ensure client enablement and satisfaction. Guide Marketing support teams to execute against vision and strategy.
Coordinates with key business partners to execute on communications and envisioned strategy (regulatory product team, Strategic Retirement Consulting, Legal). Develops and strengthens working relationships with key influencers across the organization and in the industry to support communications and business objectives.
Own and maintain communications calendar of key initiatives and programs to ensure proactive planning and use of multichannel comms strategy. Drive the development of new channels as appropriate. Leverage AI and other technologies to improve manual efforts.
Owns metrics for the program and utilizes data to make informed decisions. Monitors internal and external sentiment. Spearheads continuous improvement of regulatory communications strategy and content.
Maintains a broad knowledge of competitors and industry trends and proactively sources news and stories for broader application.
Act as the communications subject matter expert for assigned projects and partners with others across Marketing to bring content to life.
Improves end-to-end communication processes by applying current and evolving industry standards, while complying with Vanguard brand.
Who we're looking for:
Minimum 6-8 years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, or related areas.
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, or equivalent experience.
Regulatory communications experience preferred. Bonus if candidate has SECURE 2.0 expertise.
Strong strategic communication planning, content development across internal and external channels, audience engagement, visual storytelling, and media/channel selection.
Strong verbal and written communication, collaboration, problem-solving, critical thinking, and time management are essential.
Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple stakeholders, adapt messaging across audiences, and deliver measurable communication outcomes.
Additional information:
This is a hybrid position based in Malvern, PA, with remote work on Mondays and Fridays and in-office collaboration Tuesday through Thursday.
