BBVA's Regulation department monitors regulatory developments that impact the bank, defines BBVA's positions, and advocates for them with regulators.
About the job:
As Digital Regulation Principal Manager, you will lead a team monitoring and analyzing regulatory and policy developments on digital finance topics such as crypto-assets, digital currencies, payments, open banking, data, AI, cloud computing, digital platforms and competition in digital markets. You will coordinate internally with the affected areas to define BBVA’s position in the relevant industry forums and in the interaction with the authorities as well as support the banks’ senior management dialogue with relevant stakeholders. In your day-to-day, you will:
Analyze reports, consultations and proposals from relevant authorities, mainly at global and EU level.
Identify relevant issues for BBVA's strategy and businesses and disseminate the information internally through notes and presentations.
Organize meetings with internal stakeholders to discuss the implications of regulatory initiatives and to agree on BBVA' advocacy positions.
At national level, support the areas in BBVA’s footprint where regulatory initiatives require the expertise of the Digital Regulation team.
Elaborate arguments and proposals to support BBVA's positions and draft policy notes and responses to public consultations to transmit them to the relevant authorities.
Coordinate the publication of BBVA’s positions in relevant media and social networks on the aforementioned topics.
Participate in the negotiation of common positions in industry associations.
Attend national and international meetings and workshops to communicate our positions.
Prepare speaking points or presentations for meetings of the senior management of the bank.
Prepare presentations for the Regulatory Meeting with the senior management, where the bank’s positions are decided.
Requirements:
BA in Economics, Business Administration, Law, Engineering or a similar degree. Master in business administration, finance, law or economics. PhD in these disciplines will be valued.
Profound knowledge of digital regulation, fintech and digital technologies.
Relevant professional experience of 7-10 years in at least one the above mentioned areas.
Proficiency in written and spoken Spanish and English (C2) and ability to communicate complex messages to different audiences.
Good teamwork skills. Solid experience leading teams will be valued.
