Advanced Agrilytics is seeking a Regional Sales Specialist (RSS) to join our Iowa Grower Direct team! The RSS will focus on selling agronomic products and services within a specific region, helping farmers and agricultural businesses optimize crop production, and providing technical support on agronomy-related solutions. They will play a vital role in connecting cutting-edge agronomy products with farmers and agricultural businesses, helping clients optimize their operations and achieve sustainable growth.

How you will help us grow:

Sales and Business Development: 

•Develop and execute sales plans to achieve or exceed regional sales targets. 

•Identify new business opportunities within the region by building relationships with farmers, co-ops, and distributors. 

•Support the Regional Sales Manager by sharing insights on market trends, assisting with strategy implementation, and providing regular updates on sales activities to ensure alignment with regional goals. 

•Conduct regular sales visits to existing clients and prospective customers to promote agronomic products and services. 

•Negotiate sales contracts, terms, and pricing with clients, ensuring alignment with company goals. 


Agronomic Consultation and Support: 

•Provide agronomic expertise to clients, offering solutions for soil health, crop protection, nutrient management, and pest control. 

•Perform on-farm assessments to gather data and make science-based recommendations tailored to client needs. 

•Use precision agriculture tools and data (such as satellite imagery, soil sampling, and yield mapping) to help farmers make informed decisions. 

•Educate farmers and promote products that align with environmental and economic goals. 


Customer Relationship Management: 

•Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and loyalty. 

•Act as a point of contact for clients, providing ongoing agronomic advice and resolving any issues or concerns. 

•Develop customer-specific sales strategies and agronomic programs based on individual client needs and goals. 

•Provide after-sales support, following up on product performance and helping clients troubleshoot any challenges. 


Product Promotion and Field Demonstrations: 

•Collaborate with marketing and product teams to promote new agronomic products and technologies. 

•Organize and participate in field demonstrations, grower meetings, and trade shows to showcase the benefits of products and solutions. 

•Stay up-to-date on product innovations, market trends, and competitor activities to provide cutting-edge solutions to clients. 


Sales Reporting and Market Analysis: 

•Track and report on sales performance, including key metrics such as revenue, customer acquisition, and retention. 

•Analyze market trends and customer needs to identify opportunities for product or service improvement. 

•Monitor competitor activities in the region and adjust sales strategies to maintain a competitive edge. 

•Prepare and present sales forecasts, pipeline reports, and business reviews to management. 


Collaboration with Internal Teams: 

•Work closely with agronomists, product, and marketing teams to ensure the timely delivery of products and services. 

•Collaborate with regional sales managers to align sales efforts with company goals and regional strategies. 

•Support the development of marketing materials and campaigns tailored to regional customers and market conditions. 



Skills, competencies and experience you bring:  

Sales Skills: Proven ability to drive sales and build long-term relationships with customers. 

Customer-Centric Approach: Ability to understand customer needs and provide solutions that enhance their farm’s productivity and profitability. 

Agronomic Expertise: Knowledge of crop management, soil health, and agronomic best practices. 

Technical Competency: Proficiency with precision agriculture tools and technologies, such as GPS, soil sampling tools, and yield monitoring software. 

Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present technical information to clients. 

Adaptability: Ability to adjust strategies in response to changing market conditions, customer demands, or regulatory changes. 

•Four-year Bachelor's degree in Agriculture Business, Agronomy, or related field or Associates degree with 5 or more years of related experience

•Preferred minimum 5 years of experience in roles owning full sales process, preferably (but not required) in agriculture-related industry

•Willing to maintain or obtain a Certified Crop Advisor certification within 1 year of employment

•Preferred candidates have experience selling in an early-stage environment

•Proficient in computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

•Must reside in the U.S.
