Job Description
Step into a pivotal leadership role where you’ll connect regional operations with the wider business, acting as a key conduit to senior leadership teams. As the functional lead for the region, you will guide the region and the cohort with a strong safety focus, champion new technologies, and play a central role in driving organisational change. We’re seeking a strategic leader who has owned and delivered strategy—not just contributed to it—bringing exceptional business acumen and a proven ability to navigate complex, matrixed environments. As the Regional Safety Manager, you will:
- Lead Safety Initiatives: Manage and oversee safety performance across multiple infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with Victorian legislation and organisational standards.
- Enhance Safety Systems: Implement and improve safety management systems, tailored to diverse project needs.
- Collaborate Across Projects: Work closely with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to foster a culture of safety and ensure best practices are applied consistently.
- Conduct Audits and Assessments: Perform regular inspections, risk assessments, and compliance checks to maintain high safety standards.
- Mentor and Develop Teams: Provide leadership, training, and support to project safety teams, ensuring their professional growth and alignment with organisational goals.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Extensive experience in senior safety roles, specifically across multiple large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of Vic safety legislation, systems, and risk management frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor safety teams across complex project environments.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and lead safety programs
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience liaising across diverse teams and contractors.
- Relevant qualifications in Workplace Health & Safety or a related discipline.
