The opportunity

As Regional Manager, you will play a pivotal role within our Advisory function, ensuring our Financial Planners are supported, developed, and empowered to deliver exceptional client experiences. Acting as the first point of contact for guidance, you will provide effective, visible leadership across your region, setting clear expectations and driving consistent, high‑quality outcomes.

You will be accountable for managing regional performance, monitoring key KPIs such as revenue, productivity, client acquisition and profitability, and ensuring planners are set up to succeed through effective development planning, coaching and oversight. You will support the creation and delivery of regional strategies while helping shape a collaborative, high‑performing culture that supports the advancement of sustainable commercial growth.

Location  
This role is regionally focused, with regular travel expected across our offices in the Southern region, including London, Worthing and Fareham. We enable home and office working, allowing you to balance your personal responsibilities/interests and connecting with your colleagues. 

What you will be doing 

Performance, Accountability & Operational Delivery

  • Lead a high‑performing region, using KPIs and insight to inspire consistently brilliant outcomes from our planners.
  • Drive commercial success, spotting trends early and turning insight into action to boost revenue, productivity, and sustainable growth.
  • Set the pace for excellence, establishing clear goals and maintaining a strong, visible presence across the region.

People Leadership, Coaching & Development

  • Bring out the best in every planner, providing clear direction, meaningful feedback, and supportive challenge.
  • Boost capability through hands‑on development, from real‑world client scenario coaching to targeted learning interventions.
  • Champion a thriving team culture, fostering collaboration, wellbeing, and an environment where people feel supported and empowered.
  • Help shape the future direction of the region, translating national strategy into practical, high‑impact regional plans.
  • Raise the bar on quality and consistency, ensuring high standards are embedded and lived every day.

Client Outcomes & Business Growth

  • Elevate client experiences by supporting planners to deliver exceptional, fully compliant financial planning advice.
  • Grow the region’s footprint by encouraging strong professional networks, client retention, and new‑business generation.
  • Be the go‑to support for planners, offering rapid guidance and clear escalation to keep service levels high.

Compliance, Governance & Professional Standards

  • Lead with integrity, upholding FCA, Consumer Duty, T&C, and SMCR requirements with rigour and accuracy.
  • Act as a trusted guardian of quality, identifying risks early and ensuring concerns are escalated swiftly and appropriately.
  • Set the standard, modelling sound judgement and professionalism in everything you do.
  • Champion best practice, staying connected to regulatory and market changes that help us deliver even better client outcomes.

Collaboration & Team Contribution

  • Create a seamless client journey, working closely with Paraplanners, Client Executives, and Planners to deliver excellence end‑to‑end.
  • Share insights and inspire others, contributing to team sessions, development days, and regional initiatives.
  • Lead by example, reinforcing a culture of integrity, performance, and continuous improvement.
  • Bring the region together through engaging planner events that build capability, alignment, and community.

  • A strong communicator and analytical thinker with proven leadership and people‑management experience.
  • Adaptable, decisive, and able to stay calm and effective under pressure.
  • A collaborative team player who builds trust and influences stakeholders at all levels.
  • Skilled at balancing commercial priorities with people needs to achieve positive outcomes, exercising sound judgement and discretion.

Learning & Development Opportunities 

  • Leadership and management development programmes, including advanced coaching, strategic leadership, and people development.

  • Participation in national strategic initiatives, contributing to organisational growth, planner capability programmes, or future ready advisory models.

Senior Managers & Certification Regime (SMCR) 

As this is a Certified role under the SMCR, the Regional Director is required to adhere to the FCA Conduct Rules: - 

  1. You must act with integrity
  2. You must act with due skill, care and diligence
  3. You must be open and cooperative with the FCA and other regulators
  4. You must pay due regard to the interests of clients and treat them fairly
  5. You must observe proper standards of market conduct
  6. You must act to deliver good outcomes for clients

Skills Required

  • Proven leadership and people-management experience
  • Strong communication and analytical thinking skills
  • Experience driving commercial performance and using KPIs (revenue, productivity, client acquisition, profitability)
  • Experience coaching and developing financial planners and delivering targeted learning interventions
  • Knowledge of FCA requirements, Consumer Duty, T&C, and SMCR (Certified role)
  • Ability to ensure fully compliant financial planning and maintain quality documentation
  • Regular regional travel across Southern offices (London, Worthing, Fareham)
  • Ability to translate national strategy into regional plans and collaborate cross-functionally
