Regional Manager - North Queensland

The Regional Manager of North Queensland will lead multi-site operations across North Queensland, driving safe, profitable and sustainable performance across collections, resource recovery, customer service and commercial operations. This role requires a results-focused leader with strong sales, operational and stakeholder management capability, able to translate national strategy into practical regional plans while building high-performing teams and long-term customer relationships. 

Key Responsibilities
 

• Lead regional operations across multiple sites, ensuring safe, compliant and efficient delivery of waste, recycling and resource recovery services. 

• Own regional P&L performance, including budgeting, margin improvement, cost control, revenue growth and capital planning. 

• Develop and execute short- and long-range regional strategies aligned to REMONDIS Australia’s national objectives. 

• Drive commercial growth through new business development, key account management, tender support and customer retention initiatives. 

• Lead, coach and mentor operational, sales, customer service and support teams to build a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement. 

• Optimise fleet, labour, routing, site productivity and operational processes to improve service reliability and cost effectiveness. 

• Build trusted relationships with commercial, industrial, municipal, government and community stakeholders. 

• Champion health, safety, environment and quality standards across all regional activities. 

• Identify market opportunities, operational risks and customer trends, and provide clear recommendations to senior leadership. 

• Support change initiatives, integration projects and business improvement programs across the region. 

Skills and Experience
 

• Tertiary qualifications in business, management, engineering, environmental management or a related discipline will be highly regarded. 

• Significant leadership experience in waste management, environmental services, logistics, industrial services, manufacturing, transport or a related operational sector. 

• Demonstrated experience managing multi-site operations with P&L accountability. 

• Strong background in sales leadership, business development, key account management and customer relationship management. 

• Proven ability to deliver profitable growth, operational improvement and team performance outcomes. 

• Experience developing business plans and aligning regional execution to broader corporate strategy. 

• Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including experience working with corporate, government, council and industry customers. 

• Sound understanding of health, safety, environmental and compliance obligations in an operational environment. 

• Confident communication, negotiation and influencing skills at senior stakeholder level.
