What you'll be working on:

  • Responsible for the overall direction, operation and leadership of the full designated region. Provides leadership in ensuring a high level of employee morale, performance, and productivity in the Region as well as establishing the direction and guidance necessary for achieving the goals of the department, business segment, and the overall corporation.
  • Actively develops, participates in and sets forth operational and business plans that accomplish the goals and objectives of the business unit that are in-line with overall Company targets. This includes the development of business plans and presentations along with the ability to effectively present these plans in a manner before diverse audiences.
  • Senior level of oversight of pipeline operations including facilities operations and maintenance and integrity programs. This includes the direct leadership and goals of areas such as line locating, metering and regulators, compression, integrity, construction and other activities within the region.
  • Proficient and up to date on all regulatory requirements, such as federal and state pipeline safety standards, in all areas of responsibility and ensures the pipeline system remains in compliance with regulatory standards .
  • Provides senior level oversight and direction of the Integrity Management Programs, including threat evaluation and risk analysis, system surveys and direct assessments, leak surveys, pipeline patrols, line locating and the operation and maintenance of the Cathodic Protection System.
  • Optimize work management processes including work identification, scoping, scheduling, documentation, reporting, and analysis. Establish key performance indicators to monitor and improve operational performance. Ensure proper allocation of human resources to ensure reliability and operations of the pipeline system.
  • Facilitate the effective Management of Change process in order to maintain the safe and reliable operation of the pipeline system as well as the accuracy of the systems and records utilized for compliance and work management.
  • Establish and maintain a sufficient organizational structure, including the appropriate levels of staffing, resources, and physical facilities to support the business unit’s goals and activities.
  • Provide an enhanced customer experience for our internal and external customers, vendors, and business partners.
  • Promote and maintain a safe and high-quality work environment through the provision of appropriate training opportunities and adherence to all appropriate regulations and best work practices. Ensures all employees and contractors, within Regional Manager’s scope, receive necessary and required training to safely perform essential functions of their respective roles. This is to include scheduling and documentation of Operator Qualifications, Safety trainings, and other trainings as required.  Provide employee development incentives and guidelines to achieve maximum potential, including providing performance evaluation timely, coaching and goal setting.
  • Prepare annual operations and capital budgets for the operations departments. Operate within approved budgets and update/report budget forecasts.
  • Requires continuous availability to assist with emergency response
  • Perform other duties as necessary within the department and the business segment to fulfill the obligations and responsibilities of the department in meetings its goals, objectives, and strategies.
  • Mentor department members and provide insights and perspective based on experience and training to advance business unit objectives. Develop and keep current succession plans for key positions.
  • Participate in industry organizations such as INGAA, AGA or SGA
  • Stay abreast of industry updates and new and innovative implementation or systems, processes and/or technology and explore benefits of these changes to operations

Who you are:

Knowledge & Skills:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in natural gas operations including managing teams at all levels
  • Strong management skills including experience leading diverse teams
  • Extensive knowledge of natural gas pipeline operations and compliance requirements
  • Strong leadership capabilities with a proven ability to lead and build effective teams, delegate tasks, set expectations and hold teams accountable for performance while incorporating equity, diversity and inclusion into the team culture and driving engagement
  • Ability to demonstrate effective leadership skills including but not limited to interpersonal communication – both oral and written, active listening, goal setting – both team and individual, motivation – ability to teach and mentor, Problem Solving – critical thinking and being decisive, Empathy, andTeam/Relationship Building
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills required to handle multiple projects at one time.
  • Ability to effectively read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations and react accordingly.
  • Proficient with computer software including Microsoft Office Suite including Teams and Microsoft Windows.
  • Ability to effectively write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to communicate by means of the spoken word and receive information through oral communication. Movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers, and close visual acuity to operate a computer is required. 
  • Individual shall be able to operate in emergency conditions while assessing situations and making decisions based off of data provided by fellow team members. Concentration level varies with task, but in general, position shall use caution while working in the office, remotely or in the field around natural gas pipeline systems.  Work requires thinking and reasoning analytically. 
  • Ability to travel as business need require
  • Must have valid driver’s license
  • Must be willing to work extended hours
  • Ability to support 24X7 operations during emergency and storm events
