KONE is seeking an experienced finance professional to support its operations across Romania and Bulgaria. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality legal entity financial reporting, compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements, and delivering accurate financial information to support effective business decision-making.
1 Key Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate and timely financial and statutory reporting for Romania and Bulgaria.
- Own month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
- Review balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, local GAAP, tax regulations, and internal accounting policies.
- Maintain balance sheet integrity and ensure accounting accuracy.
- Coordinate external audits and act as the main contact for auditors and authorities.
- Work closely with shared service teams and external accounting providers.
- Support treasury activities, liquidity monitoring, and payment approvals.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and local statutory requirements.
- Provide accounting guidance on financial transactions and reporting matters.
- Support process improvements and financial integration activities when required.
2 Requirements
- Proven experience as a Chief Accountant or Financial Controller - Big 4 audit environment is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and statutory financial reporting.
- Good understanding of local accounting, tax, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience managing month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Hands-on experience with balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement preparation.
- Strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of financial statements, including both system-generated transactions and manual journal entries.
- Experience working with auditors, tax authorities, and external service providers.
- Ability to effectively manage and collaborate with internal and external service providers.
- Experience overseeing accounting activities across multiple legal entities or countries.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive, ownership-driven mindset.
- Experience with SAP and CPM Beacon (SAP BPC), or similar ERP and financial systems, is an advantage.
- Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) is preferred.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
