The Regional Development Assistant is a vital member of our fundraising team, providing the operational, administrative, and donor engagement support that helps our community programs thrive. This role serves as a key partner to the Central Community Development team, coordinating events and meetings, maintaining donor and constituent information within the CRM, preparing donor and stakeholder research and briefing materials, supporting chapter activities, and helping strengthen the Foundation's presence in emerging markets.
Note: This role is not a personal assistant and does not provide individual calendar support, travel arrangements, or expense reports.

Primary Responsibilities Include: The following are representative of the duties and responsibilities associated with this position and are not meant to be an all-inclusive list. This position will:

  • Provide day-to-day administrative support for region (VP of Community Development, Regional Director and Community Managers) comprised of correspondence, program logistics, data management, coordinating schedules and meetings, and other community assistance as required
  • Support virtual meetings, driving the technology and assisting with the facilitation of national virtual meetings and webinars
  • Research, compile, and verify a variety of information related to chapter membership and activities; provide reporting and analysis
  • Assist in the seamless coordination of multiple chapter activities and organization of symposia
  • Research prospective locations for chapter initiatives
  • "Resident expert” of donor database, providing assistance, ensures data hygiene, assists with training as needed.
  • Pull lists for national seminars/meetings, support speaker series or other chapter initiatives where lists will need creation and preparation
  • Work in partnership with Foundation marketing team for the design and development of promotional materials such as invitations and power point presentations 
  • Negotiate contracts with outside vendors, and maintain and process invoices and expenses based on Foundation accounting procedures
  • Communicate with other internal departments, and outside organizations for the coordination of activities, exchange of information, and to resolve issues or concerns
  • Ensure key deadlines are maintained in team calendars to ensure timely completion of projects; keep the team apprised of upcoming deadlines
  • Maintain excellent customer service and support with all volunteers, Foundation Board Members and Trustees, chapter leaders and donors, and other community constituent

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Two or more years of experience in an administrative, operations, coordinator, customer service, nonprofit, or related support role.
  • Nonprofit experience preferred, particularly in fundraising, community engagement, membership, volunteer management, or event support.
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Experience coordinating meetings, events, webinars, or community activities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and a commitment to exceptional customer service.
  • Experience using CRM or database systems and maintaining accurate records; experience with Salesforce, Raiser's Edge, Blackbaud CRM, or similar platforms is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Ability to research, compile, and organize information and prepare reports, presentations, and briefing materials.
  • Experience supporting vendor management, contracts, invoices, or other operational processes is a plus.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, adaptable, and able to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
Position Specifics:
  • Location: Remote (home office) based in the Chicago or Minneapolis metropolitan area.
  • Compensation: Budgeted starting salary range of $50,000–$58,000 annually, commensurate with experience and aligned with geographic market considerations and internal equity. Eligible for a target annual incentive bonus of up to 3%.
  • Classification: Full-time, non-exempt position, salaried with eligibility for overtime pay.
  • Tools & Support: Company-provided HP or Mac laptop, monitor, printer, and a $120 monthly technology stipend.
  • Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, with flexibility to support occasional evening and weekend meetings, events, and activities.
  • Reporting Relationship: Reports to the Central Regional Field Director
  • People Leadership: No direct supervisory responsibilities.

Skills Required
