Technical Recruiter

Do you want to be the first dedicated recruiter at a nearly 500 person engineering firm, partnering with a Head of Talent to build the whole engine: the sourcing playbook, the talent pipeline, the hiring process, and the relationships that make great engineers say yes? 

This seat is brand new. You'd be the one who shapes it. 

Sunrise started in 1978 as a four person land surveying company in Fillmore, Utah. Today we're nearly 500 engineers, surveyors, GIS specialists, and technicians in 23 offices across Utah, Arizona, Wyoming, Nevada, Colorado, and Idaho. We design the water systems, roads, and gas lines that small towns and growing cities run on. Our hiring has grown office by office, and now we're building a true talent engine. You'll own live searches from day one, work side by side with service center leaders, and help shape the tools and process we'll use for years. As the engine grows, so does your seat. 

What You'll Own 

• Running searches end to end for engineers, surveyors, GIS pros, and technicians across six states, from intake call to signed offer 

• Sourcing passive talent before roles ever open (the best engineers rarely apply, they get called), and building pipelines for hard to fill seats like transportation design leaders 

• Partnering with hiring managers as their trusted advisor: sharper intake meetings, clear interview plans, and offers that close 

• Launching our new ATS and making it sing, with a searchable talent database, easy scheduling, and light touch campaigns that keep our talent community warm 

• Telling the Sunrise story on LinkedIn and in communities across the Intermountain West, so people know what it's like here before they ever apply 

• Tracking what works with simple hiring metrics, and bringing your ideas to the table (they'll get heard) 

What You'll Bring 

• 2+ years of full cycle recruiting, agency or in house 

• Engineering, Infrastructure, construction, or technical recruiting experience strongly preferred. Recruiters from other technical industries who love learning a new market are a great fit too 

• A sourcing habit: LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean, referrals, and the phone. You'd rather call than post and pray 

• Confidence coaching hiring managers, and the kindness to push back when the process needs it 

• Experience with any ATS. Implementation experience is a bonus, not essential 

• Based near one of our Utah offices (Salt Lake area preferred) and happy to visit offices across the region

Compensation & Benefits 

• Base salary: $70,000 - $85,000

• Incentive bonus program 

• 4 weeks PTO, with one week in the bank on day one
