GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB
RECREATION AIDE RESPONSIBLITIES
- Recreation Aid works with golf range and operates equipment such as range ball picker. Organizes, cleans and maintains golf balls and associated equipment. Cleans driving mats. Fills Divots on driving range.
- Recreation Aid works with golf course carts and operates golf carts as needed. Maintaining golf carts such as cleaning, washing, parking, sweeping out carts and maintaining cart staging areas. Maintain record of broken carts needing repair.
- Meets and greets golfers. Monitors golfers to ensure appropriate rules and policies are followed by all employees and golfers. Addresses any problems found on the course.
- May be required to operate tee time computer to assist with starting players on the various courses to maintain flow of the course.
- Answer phone when needed.
- Maintains water coolers on the golf course.
- Empty garbage as needed.
- Assists with set-up and tear down of special events as needed.
- Assists other pro shop or golf course employees as needed.
ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Performs other related work as required.
- Assists in setting up equipment, furniture, etc., for various events; assists in clean-up tasks after events.
- Assist with cleanliness and maintenance of golf course.
- Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Must be able to work on feet for length of shift.
Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT
Possession of a valid Florida driver's license, and/or reliable transportation to work. Part Time Position with weekends/holidays required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OR STANDARDS REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Physical Requirements: Must be physically able to operate a variety of machinery and equipment including computers, typewriters, copiers, calculators, etc. Must be able to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Work may involve standing, walking and running. Requires the ability to maintain body equilibrium when bending, stooping, crouching, climbing, reaching and/or stretching arms, legs or other parts of body, and to physically maneuver over and/or upon varying terrain, surfaces or physical structures. Physical demand requirements are for Light to Medium Work.
Skills Required
- Possession of a valid Florida driver’s license and/or reliable transportation to work.
- Ability to work part-time including weekends and holidays.
- Physical ability to operate a variety of machinery and equipment (including basic computers, copiers, calculators).
- Ability to lift/carry up to 20 pounds occasionally and 10 pounds frequently; perform light to medium physical work.
- Ability to stand, walk, run, bend, stoop, crouch, climb, and work on varying terrain for a full shift; work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ability to operate golf carts and range equipment (e.g., range ball picker) and maintain golf course carts and staging areas.
- Customer-facing skills: greet golfers, monitor course behavior, answer phones, assist pro shop and event setup/tear down.
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience providing the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
