About Fortrum

Are you an analytical professional who enjoys working with complex financial data? Do you thrive on identifying discrepancies, solving challenging puzzles and collaborating with multiple stakeholders? Then the role of Reconciliation Specialist at Fortrum Conclusion could be the perfect fit.

At Fortrum, we specialise in Risk & Compliance, Due Diligence and Reconciliation services for the lending market. We help investors and financial institutions gain confidence in their portfolios by ensuring that financial data, transactions and reporting are accurate, complete and fully reconciled.

Your challenge

As a Reconciliation Specialist, you play a key role in validating the financial administration of structured finance transactions. You will work with data from multiple parties—including investors, lenders, servicers and SPVs—and determine whether their records reconcile correctly.

You don't just identify discrepancies; you investigate their root cause, work closely with the relevant stakeholders to resolve them and provide clear reporting on your findings. Your work directly contributes to the transparency and reliability of complex lending portfolios.

What will you do?

Your day-to-day work will involve:

  • Collecting, cleaning and, where needed, combining data from multiple parties;

  • Analysing whether the administrations of the different parties reconcile with one another;

  • Investigating discrepancies and following up with the relevant parties to resolve them;

  • Producing clear, accurate reporting on your findings.

Working at the intersection of data, finance and risk

This role combines analytical thinking with a strong understanding of financial processes. You'll work with large datasets, investigate complex financial flows and ensure that all parties involved have confidence in the integrity of their data.

Every assignment is different. You'll continuously switch between data analysis, stakeholder communication and problem solving, making this a varied and intellectually challenging role.

Who you are

  • Medior or senior level, with demonstrable relevant work experience;

  • Highly skilled in Excel;

  • A strong understanding of how data from investors, lenders, servicers and SPVs interrelates — for example through a background in structured finance;

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Excellent command of English, both written and spoken, as you will communicate with a range of parties and produce reports in English;

  • Able to manage projects fully independently;

  • Disciplined and reliable when it comes to meeting deadlines.

Nice to have:

  • A background in structured finance;

  • Experience with data analysis and reporting;

  • A degree in econometrics or a related quantitative field.

What's in it for you?

We believe in being transparent. The salary for this position depends on your knowledge and experience and will be between €3750 en €5300. In addition, you'll receive an appropriate mobility allowance.

Of course, we've got the essentials covered: a laptop, phone, an excellent pension scheme, a catered lunch, and a smooth process for salary payments and expense reimbursements.

But what really sets us apart is the way we work:

  • Plenty of opportunities to develop yourself, both professionally and personally;

  • The chance to work with leading financial institutions, both in the Netherlands and internationally;

  • A varied role that combines working on-site with clients, from our office, and from home;

  • The freedom to be yourself—we value expertise and authenticity over appearances;

  • Flexibility to decide where and when you work, with a strong focus on maintaining a healthy work-life balance;

  • Access to knowledge-sharing sessions, events and social activities with colleagues;

  • And if you need a break during the day, there's always room to relax and unwind at the office.
