This is an on-site position located in Salisbury, MD. No remote or hybrid opportunities. This role will work in partnership with a visually impaired person. No holidays. THIS IS AN ON-CALL POSITION.
Work week is Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm (no holidays).
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Proficient knowledge and mastery of the English language in order to read for employee with a disability.
- Ability to read a variety of handwritten/printed and on-screen materials to visually impaired employee.
- Ability to verbally describe various visual aids such as graphs, charts, pictures, illustrations, etc. used to supplement written/printed text.
- Ability to identify and learn the basic structure of a state agency in order to support their client.
- Proficient knowledge and ability to use MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat Professional.
- Ability to type on a keyboard and use a mouse.
- Ability to understand and follow policies, specific instructions, and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Ability to safely guide and accompany client throughout the workspace.
- Understanding of and ability to adhere to strict confidentiality standards.
- Possess strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Must be able to pass a state background check including fingerprints.
