Performs diagnostic radiographic procedures for patients of all ages, produces high-quality radiographs, rotates through advanced modalities (OR, urography, myelography, arthrography), assists practitioners with fluoroscopy and trauma procedures, completes required competencies, and performs related duties under minimal supervision.

Under minimal supervision, performs basic to complex diagnostic radiographic procedures, as requested by a licensed physician. Exercises professional judgment in providing health care services, applying x-ray energy, to assist in diagnosis or treatment of patients in all age groups from newborn to elderly. Is multi-skilled in the use of O.R. procedures and equipment. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology
PREFERRED EDUCATION: Associate’s Degree

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE:

  • Possession of current Texas Medical Board (TMB) license. 
  • Possession of American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, in Radiography or registry eligible. Must have ARRT within one year post graduation of accredited school.
     

PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: 
REQUIRED COURSES/ COMPLETIONS (e.g., CPR): Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support on hire (ARC or AHA); however, must have AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire.

Skills Required

  • Graduate of accredited Imaging Program
  • Associate degree
