Job Summary:
Performs technical procedures to obtain diagnostic exams of various portions of the body using recognized radiographical techniques and CT protocols to assist physicians in diagnosis of diseases and injuries with a minimum of ionizing radiation being applied. Exhibits the values of F.I.R.S.T. (Friendliness, Innovation, Respect, Service, and Trust).
Working Conditions, Hazards and Physical Effort:
Works in a radiation exposure area. Exposure to infectious materials, cuts, and abrasions from equipment. A flexible work schedule is required. Constant physical activity. Strenuous activity involved with moving equipment and patients. Must be able to move or position 25 lbs. independently.
Contacts with Others:
Patients, visitors, medical staff, and all other departments within the facility. Assists in troubleshooting problems of scanner.
Minimum Qualifications or Equivalents:
Education: Graduate of AMA approved school of Radiologic Technologists.
Experience: Minimum of three (3) years as staff radiographer or has taken the CT Registry.
EQUIPMENT USED/SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED: Ability to operate radiation exposure equipment and computers.
Licenses, Certifications, and/or Registrations:
Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Advanced ARRT registry in Computed Tomography is preferred. Must maintain current KY General Radiation Operators License in the Department of Human Resources.
Preferred QualificationsOne (1) year experience is preferred.
Pay Range$26.85 - $37.95 based on years of experience. 12.5 % night shift diff. 5 % weekend shift diff
Skills Required
- Graduate of an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technologists
- Minimum of three years as a staff radiographer or completion of the CT Registry
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Maintain a current Kentucky General Radiation Operators License through the Department of Human Resources
- Ability to operate radiation exposure equipment and computers
- Ability to move or position 25 pounds independently
- Advanced ARRT registry in Computed Tomography
- One year of experience
