As a vital member of our team, you will play an important role in our patient care community within a setting renowned for clinical excellence.
The Radiologic Technologist applies prescribed ionizing radiation for radiological diagnosis to patients.
  • Assesses patients prior to, during, and after procedures according to CMC Guidelines. 

  • Evaluates and positions patients to obtain quality images with a high degree of professional ethics, care, courtesy, patience and safety.  Performs IV contrast injections, urinary catheterizations, and/or other procedures as required. 

  • Observes patients for adverse reactions and assists in aid when necessary.

  • Operates highly specialized fluoroscopic and radiographic equipment including CR (Computed Radiography) and DR (Digital Radiography).

  • May need to use PACS (Picture Archive Communication System)

  • Assists patients, which may include scheduling, registration, file management and utilizes EMR (Electronic Medical Records).

  • Trains students and staff as assigned. 

  • Participates as part of team to provide specific patient care functions and assures informed consent and patient education. 

  • Communicates with physicians, nursing staff, other hospital staff and patients

  • Cross-trains basic laboratory phlebotomy and operates laboratory waive testing equipment (site specific) according to CLIA regulations.

  • Prepares patients for examination and explains procedures.  Evaluates lab results, patient history and relays to radiologist or procedure performing physician.  Records and maintains all procedural data. 

  • Performs imaging procedures in the Emergency Department, Inpatient and Operating Room settings, provides trauma care, IV contrast injections and other skills as required. 

  • Assists physician during radiological or sterile diagnostic procedures.

What We Require:

Education:  High school graduate or equivalent required.  Graduate of an approved School of Radiologic Technology required.

Experience:  none

Licensure, certification, and/or registration: ARRT registry or registry eligible.

Life Support: AHA BLS-HCP required.

Other Minimum Qualifications: Effective interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills required.
