We are currently looking for a full-time Clinical Coordinator for the Radiologic Technology programs. The Clinical Coordinator of Radiology assists in planning, implementing, evaluating, and summarizing clinical practice arrangements in health care settings. 

Hours for this position will primarily be Monday-Friday with some evenings and weekends required

Responsibilities of the position include:

  • Contacts facilities and arranges day and evening clinical rotations. 
  • Meets with Director of Radiology regularly to keep her/him informed of clinical facilities and needs. 
  • Reports to the Program Director of Radiologic Technology any clinical faculty vacancies.
  • Seeks out new clinical facilities as needed.
  • Works with the clinical instructors to make sure clinical affiliation agreements are sent out and current. 
  • Maintains a notebook of clinical facilities and contact individuals, and keeps it updated quarterly. 
  • Maintains a notebook quarterly of all student clinical assignments with student contact numbers and instructor contact numbers. 
  • Performs routine clinical visits, fills out clinical visit report form and presents to the Program Director of Radiologic Technology.
  • Cooperates with the Clinical Instructor and collaborates prior to start date of the assigned clinical. 
  • Works in conjunction with the Clinical Instructor to provide organized student clinical orientation on the first day of rotation.
  • Forwards a student roster to clinical education settings.
  • Assures that students have current CPR certification, TB test status, and MMR. 
  • Assures the Clinical Coordinator, Clinical Instructors, and students maintain patient confidentiality and behave professionally.
  • Maintains all needed student and facility documentation. 
  • Administers and maintains student/clinical setting evaluation surveys and organizes exchange of information with both groups.
  • Maintains records on student’s illnesses, accidents or any unusual occurrences that occur and report to the Director of Radiology.
  • Teach didactic coursework as assigned by the Program Director for Radiologic Technology.
  • Assists with other positions and responsibilities as assigned including attending graduation. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 Assures that students: 

  • Have current CPR certification, TB test status, and MMR. 
  • Are identified by school nametag at all times when in clinical area.
  • Abide by policy and procedures of the facility. 
  • Are knowledgeable of various institutional codes.
  • Follows dress code of Sullivan University.
  • Perform only procedures/skills within the scope of the currently assigned clinical course.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum of two years of clinical experience in the professional discipline. 
  • Minimum of one year of experience as an instructor in a JRCERT-accredited program and holds American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) current registration in radiography or equivalent (i.e., unrestricted state license for the state in which the program is located).
  • An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered.
  • Must possess excellent leadership, customer service, communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously and efficiently while meeting required deadlines.
  • Attention to detail in writing and record keeping and good communication skills. 
  • Proficient in curriculum development, supervision, instruction, evaluation, and academic advising.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, to include evenings, weekends, and travel to multiple locations as dictated by the course schedule.
  • Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time, as well as to move about the campus.
  • Must be able to hear and speak well enough to communicate with students, faculty, staff and clinical facilities face to face, via the telephone, and through electronic medium (e.g., email, recordings, virtual meetings, etc.).
