Responsibilities:

  • Perform high-quality radiographic examinations in accordance with physician orders, departmental protocols, and established safety standards.

  • Maintain compliance with department policies, procedures, quality assurance initiatives, and regulatory requirements.

  • Prepare patients for imaging procedures by providing clear instructions, ensuring comfort, and promoting a positive patient experience.

  • Operate radiographic equipment safely and effectively while producing diagnostic-quality images.

  • Review images for technical quality and accuracy, ensuring all required imaging standards are met.

  • Inspect and monitor equipment, supplies, and accessories regularly to ensure proper functionality and readiness for patient care.

  • Maintain adequate inventory levels and stock required supplies in assigned imaging areas.

  • Prepare, organize, and maintain examination rooms to ensure a clean, safe, and efficient work environment.

  • Assist with transporting patients to and from imaging areas, inpatient units, and the Emergency Department as needed.

  • Practice proper infection prevention, safety, and patient handling techniques at all times.

  • Collaborate with radiologists, providers, nurses, and other healthcare team members to support timely and effective patient care.

  • Participate in continuing education, in-service training, workshops, and professional development activities to maintain and enhance clinical competency.

  • Stay current with advancements in imaging technology, best practices, and industry standards.

  • Attend departmental, organizational, and staff meetings as required.

  • Contribute to a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and exceptional patient care.

Qualifications:

Education

  • Associates degree

Licensure

  • Current New Mexico Radiography Technologist (RRT) License or Temporary Radiography License required.

Certifications

  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification in Radiography [ARRT(R)] preferred at the time of hire.

  • Candidates hired without ARRT(R) certification must obtain certification within one (1) year of hire.

Additional Requirements

  • Must maintain all required licenses and certifications in good standing throughout employment.

  • Must meet all continuing education and regulatory requirements necessary to maintain licensure and certification.
