Job Description
The selected candidate will undergo the certification process to become a DDG-class ship platform Radio Communications System (RCS) instructor. Candidate will instruct/lead the S-202-0001 Aegis Radio Team Training course of instruction to pre commission unit RCS crews. Course is a hybrid blend of classroom and hands on laboratory demonstrations lasting 3 weeks and an average class size of 24 students. In addition to instructing, this position will entail curriculum design and development, developing course materials, and working as an RCS technician, providing logistics, testing, and technical support as required.
The selected candidate's responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Performing written formal test procedures with a customer witness.
  • Troubleshooting equipment/system failures and repairing associated equipment for the Radio Communications System (RCS).
  • Working with the engineering department to develop test procedures for new and existing systems for Systems Verification Testing.
  • Providing inputs and solutions to the engineering department for design deficiencies/enhancements and aiding in the integration of new systems into the baseline.
  • Occasionally working off-site for duties on various ship platforms. Typical travel requirements include conducting System Operational Verification Testing (SOVT), Shipbuilders Trials, Final Contract Trials (FCT), Total Ship Readiness Assessment (TSRA), and CASREP (Casualty Report) technical assistance to resolve issues unattainable by ship's force.
  • Coordinating with customers, ISEA, and various engineering entities to ensure proper integration, operation, maintenance, and testing of naval radiocommunications systems on new and established baselines.
  • Providing training and lifeline support for ship's crew, shipyard personnel, and off-site BAE Systems employees on the operation and maintenance of all associated equipment and systems.
  • Researching and analyzing various publications and documents to obtain necessary information for preparing training session curriculum and lesson guides.
  • Developing training session plans, lesson guides, and training aids. Writing training manuals, preparing instructional guides, examinations, troubleshooting techniques, and other training session support materials.
  • Developing training goals, objectives, and requirements. Developing participant qualification requirements. Identifying and developing solutions to training problem areas.
  • Conducting and presenting training session curriculum. Instructing participants in the specific subject area utilizing training techniques such as lectures, role-playing exercises, individual coaching, demonstrations, and workshops.
  • Maintaining records of training activities and employee progress, and evaluating the effectiveness of programs.

This position is located in scenic and historic Southern Maryland, in St. Mary's County, near the Patuxent River Naval Air Station. Some limited relocation assistance may be available for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state their willingness to relocate to St. Mary's County, Maryland, or surrounding areas.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills • High school diploma and at least 6 years of experience in a technical field, preferably in a role related to radio communications systems, electronics, or a similar technical field.• Technical knowledge of radio communications systems, including principles of radio frequency theory, antenna systems, and communication protocols.• Experience with troubleshooting and repairing electronic equipment and systems.• Strong instructional skills, with the ability to design and deliver effective training programs.• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people.• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve technical issues.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills • Certified Navy Instructor (NEC 9502/805A), Navy Master Training Specialist, or prior experience as a Course Curriculum Model Manager (CCMM) or Course Supervisor.• Experience with curriculum design and development, including the creation of training materials and lesson plans.• Knowledge of naval radiocommunications systems and protocols.• Experience working with engineering departments to develop test procedures and integrate new systems into existing baselines.• Familiarity with military training standards and protocols.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $77809 - $132275
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
