Radiologic Technologist III - Rotating Night Shift Safety Sensitive Position

We are seeking a highly skilled, independent, and dedicated Radiologic Technologist III to join our Diagnostic Imaging team on a full-time rotating night shift. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced imaging professional to provide exceptional patient care while performing x-ray and CT procedures in a fast-paced rural hospital setting.

The Radiologic Technologist III produces high-quality diagnostic images that assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of disease and injury. Working collaboratively with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team, this individual is responsible for delivering safe, efficient, and compassionate care while maintaining the highest standards of image quality, radiation safety, and professionalism.

Because this position primarily works rotating nights, the ideal candidate must be able to work independently, prioritize multiple responsibilities, exercise sound clinical judgment, and respond calmly and effectively in urgent or emergent situations. The ideal candidate must have strong critical thinking, organizational, and problem-solving skills. They must possess the ability to remain calm, compassionate, and professional while caring for patients of all ages and acuity levels.

This position is classified as Safety Sensitive and requires strict adherence to patient safety, radiation safety, infection prevention, and all hospital policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform x-ray and CT examinations in accordance with physician orders, departmental protocols, and established standards of practice.
  • Prepare, identify, educate, and position patients to obtain high-quality diagnostic images while ensuring patient comfort, privacy, dignity, and safety.
  • Explain imaging procedures, answer patient questions, and provide reassurance to promote a positive patient experience.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and imaging principles to consistently produce diagnostic-quality images.
  • Operate imaging equipment safely and efficiently, selecting appropriate technical factors and evaluating image quality to minimize repeat examinations.
  • Practice radiation safety by following ALARA principles and all applicable regulatory and hospital guidelines.
  • Administer contrast media and monitor patients during CT procedures in accordance with departmental policies and physician orders, when authorized.
  • Maintain imaging equipment, perform routine quality assurance procedures, and promptly report equipment malfunctions or safety concerns.
  • Accurately document patient information, imaging procedures, technical data, and contrast administration in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate effectively with other healthcare team members to ensure timely, coordinated patient care.
  • Effectively prioritize emergency, outpatient, and trauma imaging requests while maintaining efficiency and quality.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, competency assessments, continuing education, and departmental performance improvement activities.
  • Maintain flexibility to work rotating nights, weekends, holidays, and other departmental scheduling needs.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • Current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Current Arkansas Radiologic Technology License.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Demonstrated strong competency in x-ray and CT
  • Previous CT experience preferred.

Skills Required

  • Certification in Radiologic Technology (ARRT or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a radiology department
  • BLS Certification
