AEI Music is an independent music community, based in Haggerston in East London. Our mission is to build the biggest community of lifelong electronic music fans.
AEI Music enjoys an influential presence across multiple platforms through our music labels, curator channels and live events.
Our Recordings department offers a wide range of artists & label services including distribution, label management and release marketing. Our brands include UKF, Pilot, Drum&BassArena, SubSoul and we work directly with artists like O’Flynn, MPH, Bushbaby, 1991, Delta Heavy and others.
Impact
AEI Music’s is looking for an experienced dance A&R who will help grow the AEI’s Recordings business and labels.
They will actively develop the company's A&R strategy alongside the Directors and brand managers, promoting AEI services to their wide network of artists & managers. They will actively scout tracks and projects to sign, and work closely with AEI Music marketing team to handle music deliverables and strategy for any of their artists campaigns.
The A&R will also maintain active relationships with AEI’s existing artists, writers and their teams as well as external publishers and songwriters our artists may work or collaborate with, and build long term artist partnerships in an effort to build out the AEI Recordings roster.
They will lead on any studio sessions, writing camps; sample clearances, planning sessions, (including admin: tracking progress, following up after each session, obtaining songs, reviewing music, seeking feedback from the wider team etc).
Must haves
- Existing network of artists & managers
- Great understanding of A&R and associated A&R tools
- Track record of scouting, signing and supporting successful artists
- Excellent skills in organisation, email, relationship building, dealmaking
- Understanding of modern day music marketing, platforms and audiences incl TikTok, Meta, Discord etc.
- Strong knowledge and affinity of the electronic music landscape
- Experienced in hosting writing camps that have led to successful commercial releases
- Understanding of music structure, production, mixing
- Experience in working with songwriters, music producers, mastering engineers
- Knowledge of Recordings & Publishing music rights

AEI Music operates a 4 day working week with remote and flexible working options. All team must be able to attend team meetings in GMT.
