Quantitative/Global Macro Trading Assistant
Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Hybrid-New York City
Temporary 3 + months
Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly analytical and technically inclined Trading Assistant to support the algorithmic trading desk. The role is designed for a recent graduate with strong mathematical and technical skills who can work closely with algorithmic traders and technology teams to translate trading ideas into system logic and support the implementation of trading strategies.
This role sits at the intersection of trading, quantitative analysis, and technology, helping bridge communication between traders, quantitative researchers, and developers.
Some of the things you will be doing:
Trader Support

• Work directly with algorithmic traders to understand trading strategies and execution requirements
• Assist in translating trading strategies into structured logic and technical specifications for development teams
• Support the monitoring and analysis of algorithmic trading performance

Quantitative Analysis

• Conduct data analysis and statistical evaluation of trading strategies and market behavior
• Assist in evaluating execution performance, slippage, and liquidity metrics
• Build models or tools to analyze trade outcomes and strategy effectiveness
• Market & Trade Analytics
• Analyze market microstructure and trading patterns across asset classes such as equities, fixed income, FX, and repo markets
• Build dashboards or tools to monitor execution quality and market conditions

Process Improvement

• Help design tools and automation to improve trading efficiency and workflow
• Contribute to improvements in data pipelines, execution analytics, and trading infrastructure

What technical skills, qualifications, and experience do you need?

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or related quantitative field
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills, including probability, statistics, and linear algebra
• Interest in financial markets and algorithmic trading
• Familiarity with algorithmic trading concepts and market microstructure
• Experience working with large datasets and financial data
• Knowledge of data analysis libraries (Python/Pandas, NumPy, etc.)
• Strong ability to translate complex concepts between technical and business teams
• Strong quantitative aptitude
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced trading environment
• Able to communicate effectively with traders, quants, and engineers
• Curious, analytical, and interested in building trading technology and strategies

At CSC, compensation decisions are dependent on a number of factors including job location and the knowledge and experience of each individual. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $45,000 to $50,000.
