Job Description
Role Summary
A great opportunity to join a growing and focused investment team as a Quant analyst. The role will require the development implementation of complex quantitative models and analytical strategies in both local and global capital markets, working within a dynamic team environment.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Maintain, run and evolve the quant elements of the existing models and processes.
- Assist with fund manager style and skill analysis including holdings-based analysis.
- Build and maintain quant-based analysis tools per asset class with auto reporting mechanisms.
- Build and maintain an optimisation workspace that each product/solution can use as an objective starting point for portfolio construction.
- Assist with data mining and analysis for the purpose of strategic value add and thought leadership.
- Produce portfolio review analysis for more in-depth reflection on our solutions e.g. POD analysis, risk decomposition, Holdings correlation, etc.
- Collection and maintenance of relevant strategy data where it’s not available on data platforms and management of flow to data team.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Relevant graduate qualification (BCom, BSc, B.Bus.Sci).
- Preferably 2-3 years minimum relevant industry experience.
- Strong quantitative skills (including excel) or programming experience in an investment setting
- Understanding of financial analysis and modelling.
- Critical reasoning skills.
- Skills and experience in big data analytics and AI will be beneficial
- Great communication skills and are able to present ideas clearly in English (both written and verbal).
Responsible for complex modelling calculations and analysis. Designs, constructs and documents appropriate models across the organisation. Continuously researches and assesses new processes for model development and enhancement
ResponsibilitiesData Collection and Analysis
Use data from a wide range of sources to analyze key themes and identify possible impacts on the business.
Data Exploration
Conduct research and select relevant information to enable analysis of key themes and trends using primary data sources and business intelligence tools.
Advanced and Predictive Analytics
Run advanced and predictive analyses and perform model assessments, validation, and enhancement activities, using predictive analytics' software tools and functionalities.
Risk Scenario Modeling
Analyze, assess, and quantify the risks associated with products, individual applications, business activities, and the market to determine whether any risk is within the agreed risk appetite. Undertake tactical risk modeling.
Insights and Reporting
Prepare and coordinate the completion of various data and analytics reports.
Information and Business Advice
Provide specialist advice on the interpretation and application of policies and procedures, resolving queries and issues and referring very complex or contentious issues to others.
Business Performance Metrics
Lead projects or area within the realm of business performance metrics involving identification, development, and tracking of key performance indicators.
Operational Compliance
Maintain and renew a deep knowledge and understanding of the organization's policies and procedures and of relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct, and ensure own work adheres to required standards. Or identify, within the team, patterns of noncompliance with the organization's policies and procedures and with relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct, taking appropriate action to report and resolve these and escalating issues as appropriate.
Personal Capability Building
Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation, where relevant, to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Maintain an in-depth understanding of technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.
