Summary: Quantitative Analyst, Index Operations position sits within the Cboe Global Index (CGI) Operations team. In this role, the Analyst will support the day-to-day maintenance of the Cboe US Indices on a real time and end of day calculation, as well as the monitoring of index delivery and distribution in a timely and accurate manner. The team is responsible for data administration/QA, product sales support, product research and change-management activities for its U.S. Index business, including CGI’s theoretical options pricing service. The role will be primarily focused on derivatives-based strategies but will include US equity indices as well. This role will perform activities related to full operational support for daily index maintenance. The position will report to Sr. Manager of U.S. Index Operations.
Location: Chicago or New York (flex hybrid)
Responsibilities:
- Day-to-day responsibility for the smooth operation of U.S. Derivatives and Equity based Index calculation and dissemination in an accurate and timely manner
- Timely resolution of issues in co-ordination with relevant third parties and internal Cboe departments
- Perform periodic rebalances of Cboe US Indices in accordance with relevant timetables and provide client support related to rebalance events
- Perform validation processes as documented in controls with appropriate evidencing and record-keeping, this includes daily index value reporting, corporate action and dividend monitoring
- Follow the Incident Management Process after client impacting issues, ensure details are accurately logged, participate in the learning review and bring ideas for mitigating the risk of issues reoccurring or earlier detection of the issue.
- Present ideas to automate and streamline index operation processes and develop tolling accordingly
- Work collaboratively with other Cboe departments, third parties and vendors on new index launches and enhancements
- Provide first class Client Support e.g., on-boarding, query handling and price challenges in a timely manner
- Maintain and support detailed written standard operating procedures for daily processes
- Record and maintain data for Key Performance Indicators, alerts and validation monitoring for potential errors in index calculations and dissemination
- Participate in technical and methodological change-management processes related to index calculation and distribution
- Run daily replication and calculation models and debug as needed within specific timeframes
- Follow the Incident Management Process after client impacting issues, ensure details are accurately logged, participate in the learning review and bring ideas for mitigating the risk of issues reoccurring or earlier detection of the issue
- Learn about theoretical options pricing and run basic modeling exercises
- Performs other related duties as required or requested
Requirements
- BS degree preferred with 0-3 years financial markets experience in a related capacity. Or equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
- Derivatives experience a plus
- Strong operational mindset and methodical approach to problem-solving
- Intermediate experience working with R, Python, and/or other object-oriented programming language is a plus
- Experience in solving complex modelling problems and “de-bugging”
- Ability to interpret and apply mathematical index methodologies to real-world situations
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills; solid writing skills is a must
- Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team, with proactive advancement of assigned work and problem solving.
- Experience with MS-Office, particularly advanced skills with MS-Excel

As required by the New York City Human Rights Law, Cboe provides a reasonable range of minimum base salary for roles that may be performed in New York City. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to geographic location, skill set, level of experience, etc. For New York City only, the range of starting base salary for this role is $84,000-$138,000. Additional incentive compensation and benefits may be available.
