Purpose/Summary

Perform Quality Floor Support, Routine Quality tasks & assist in various Quality Assurance / Control Projects.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

Responsibilities shall include but not limited to:

  • Perform functions such as: Process Patrol Audits, Maintain QPR system, Maintain & Monitor quality control data in appropriate software, daily scrap review, create Quality Alerts, participant in continuous improvement activities (Jishuken, Kaizen Teams), Associate Training, Gage R&R Studies. Other assignments as required.
  • To support the development and implementation of Supplier Certification, Supplier PPAP’s and act as supplier interface.
  • Perform functions such as: coordinate building & inspection of prototype parts to support R&D (AC-E).
  • Interface with production, customers and/or suppliers to answer questions and resolve concerns.
  • Basic maintenance & testing, of inspection equipment such as: Microvu, Instron (Shear/Compression), Ovens (Swells & Growth/Resin Flow), Hardness Testers, Micrometers, Calipers, Height Gage w/ Indicator, Digital Indicator.
  • Supplement Receiving Inspection and in-process Testing activities.
  • Support trials & new products launches.
  • Perform product validation for new and replacement components.
  • Support in-house inventory containment and obsolescence planning.
  • Dimensions verification on key process tooling and part prints.
  • Documentation and reporting as required to support organizational goals.
  • Supports Akebono’s Quality System and Loss Control/Safety Programs through active involvement.
  • Performs other related duties as required.



Education and/or Experience (minimum required for the position)

  • Two-year Technical Degree, or comparable equivalent experience in quality field.
  • One-year Quality / Technical experience in a Manufacturing Environment.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Knowledge of Quality Systems & Methods of Manufacturing.
  • Proficiency with P.C. based software.
  • Strong communication & troubleshooting skills.
  • Able to read drawings and understand critical dimensions.
