Job Responsibilities:
The Quality Systems Lead is responsible for ensuring robust quality governance and compliance across the business' Quality Management System and providing key input into the quality aspects of engineering automation and industrialisation projects.
This role also acts as the interface between Quality, Engineering, Logistics and Industry 4.0 teams, ensuring that automated solutions, new technologies and process changes are implemented in line with automotive industry standards, customer specifics and regulatory expectations.
Role Responsibilities:
- Coordinate, support and lead the development, maintenance and improvement of the Quality Management System in line with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001 and customer specific requirements
- Lead internal, customer and external audits related to quality systems whilst supporting other business-oriented audit requirements across multiple departments
- Act as the Quality Systems SME for automation, digital manufacturing and engineering transformation projects, with a focus on digital inspection and data-driven quality systems
- Support and approve APQP, FMEA, control plan, PPAP and MSA requirements impacted by automation
- Ensure quality requirements are properly integrated into project lifecycles from concept through commissioning, embedding quality-by-design principles
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with integration projects, such as functional safety, traceability and data integrity
- Verify that process capability, repeatability and reproducibility of vision systems meet customer and regulatory expectations
- Collate and report status on quality deliverables and key KPIs, escalating where required
EXPERIENCE:
Essential
- Proven experience in the automotive industry, preferably in a quality and/or engineering role
- Strong working knowledge and application IATF 16949, ISO 9001 with Internal or Lead Auditor certification
- Direct involvement with the automotive quality core tools and the ability to overcome associated roadblocks
- Advanced data analytics and business intelligence skills
Desirable
- Engineering-based degree
- Experience supporting or leading automation, industrialisation or capital projects
- Direct OEM interface experience
- Exposure to PLC-controlled systems, vision systems, MES and digital traceability
- Software development skills
