Quality Supervisor

Job Description

Essential Job Functions:  

• Supervision and coordination of work activities of hourly production hourly employees. 
• Feedback daily defects to management personnel and production employees. 
• Interpret and enforce company policies and safety regulations to employees. 
• Establish and adjust manpower to meet production schedules. 
• Maintain time and production records. 
• Administer disciplinary action as needed. 
• Inspection of products to verify conformance to specification and problem resolution/general maintenance of machinery. 
• Recommend measures to improve efficiency as it relates to production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product. 
• Set up containment when required. 
• Communicate shop floor problems/defects to the personnel responsible for corrective action. 
• Set up schedule of inspection and testing regarding new launches. 
• Assure adherence of the collective bargaining agreement. 
• Perform other duties as assigned. 
• Contribute to the achievement of quality/management objectives by ensuring that quality policies, procedures, and processes are followed. 
• Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformance related to product, process and quality systems. 
• Identify and record any problems related to the product, process and quality system. 
• Control further processing, delivery, or installation of nonconforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected. 

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Applied Science or Engineering (preferred). 
• Five years prior experience in Quality Assurance (Preferred) or a combination of equivalent education, experience and training with the necessary knowledge and skills. 
• Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills. 
• Proficient with Microsoft word and Excel. 
• Effective problem-solving skills. 
• Experience in quality management systems. 
• Experience in quality system audits. 
• Desire to own decisions and take responsibility for outcomes.
