Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for a Quality Production Specialist to support Product and Process Surveillance in Paint Operations in North Charleston, South Carolina on 1st shift.
In this role, you will review and validate product non-conformances, perform analysis to evaluate product quality, and conduct failure and forensic analysis of aerospace components. Additionally, you will train and mentor fellow employees, perform root cause analysis, develop corrective/preventive actions, and Project Manage quality initiatives to support 787 production improvements.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Reviews and validates product non-conformances and disposition type, quality procedures and engineering requirements.
  • Performs analysis to identify and evaluate the quality of products, operations and processes to Quality Management System requirements, applicable company procedures, contract requirements or government regulations.
  • Applies knowledge of aerospace design, systems and integration to perform failure and forensic analysis of aerospace components and systems.
  • Trains and mentors fellow employees in the Quality Management System.
  • Performs root cause analysis on the nonconformance to identify the cause and prevent reoccurrence.
  • Independently develops, modifies and documents actions to assure problem resolution or to implement corrective/preventive action and documents resolution.
  • Obtains corrective action on nonconforming plans and hardware/processes.
  • Negotiates concurrence, obtains commitments for taking preventive and corrective action, prioritizes quality activities and ensures problem resolution.
  • Reviews and validates the corrective action plans and identifies affectivity to ensure completion.
  • Reviews and implements corrective action on audit results to ensure media is stored and handled per engineering defined requirements.
  • Interprets industry standards and provide recommendations for implementation.
  • Creates analytical reports and coordinates with the responsible parties for internal/external distribution.
  • Analyzes process data, metrics, models and flows to identify root cause of problems.
  • Conducts research, compiles and analyzes performance reports and process control statistics, to continuously improve process capability.
  • Works under general direction.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in North Charleston, SC.
This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. "U.S. Person" includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • 3+ years of experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
  • 3+ years of experience in a role that required you to analyze and summarize raw data from various sources, and recommend executable action plans
  • 3+ years of experience in Excel (i.e. formulas, pivot tables, linking worksheets)
  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing, flightline or paint operations
  • 3+ years of experience working with Velocity
  • 3+ years of experience in a production environment

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • 3+ years of experience in quality assurance
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher
  • Experience working with CMES
  • Experience with managing quality improvement projects
  • Experience in working defect reduction strategies within a cross-functional environment
  • Boeing 787 Program Experience
  • Aerospace, Fabrication, and/or Manufacturing experience

Summary pay range Level 2: $71,400 - $96,600
Summary pay range Level 3: $89,250 - $120,750
