The Quality Manager oversees all aspects of yield performance, quality systems, and manufacturing process optimization in a semiconductor fab. This role leads cross‑functional problem solving, manages quality and yield engineering teams, and ensures products meet strict performance, reliability, and customer standards. Success requires strong semiconductor process knowledge, analytical capability, and collaborative leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Yield Management
- Monitor yield trends and drive improvement across all fab modules.
- Apply DOE, SPC, FMEA, 8D, and root‑cause methodologies to reduce yield loss.
- Lead responses to excursions and validate process changes and experiments.
- Oversee data review, modeling, pareto analysis, and failure signature identification.
Quality Management
- Maintain ISO 9001–compliant quality systems and meet customer quality expectations.
- Manage supplier quality, incoming materials, audits, and corrective action closure.
- Improve Cpk/Ppk, DPPM, escape rates, and reliability metrics.
- Lead qualifications, FA/RMA processes, and ensure full traceability.
Data & Analytics
- Enhance yield/quality data infrastructure with IT/MES teams.
- Use advanced analytics and machine learning where available.
- Implement automated SPC, alerts, and real‑time dashboards.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Manage yield, quality, data, and technician teams.
- Act as main interface across operations, engineering, quality, and customers.
- Foster a culture of data‑driven problem solving and continuous improvement.
Program & Project Management
- Lead yield/quality improvement initiatives and capability upgrades.
- Own change control, MRB/SCAR, and engineering change reviews.
- Support NPI through yield learning, characterization, and qualifications.
Qualifications
- BS/MS in Engineering or related technical field.
- 7–10+ years in semiconductor manufacturing, yield, process, test, or quality engineering.
- Strong semiconductor process knowledge, SPC/DOE expertise, and MES/SPC tool experience.
- Proven leadership and cross‑functional communication skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with RF/power/CMOS/GaN/GaAs/SiC or advanced packaging.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and customer quality standards.
- Expertise in JMP, Python, Spotfire, Tableau, or yield monitoring systems.
- Experience leading major factory recovery or excursion events.
Salary Range
The salary range for this position is $120,000 – 170,000USD.
Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, and qualifications.
