The Quality Assurance Manager will lead the daily production of quality engineers and quality support staff, and lead improvement initiatives to meet key business objectives of safety, process quality, cost reduction, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction. Critical metrics for the Quality Assurance Manager include measuring and monitoring effectiveness, in-process containment of issues, reductions in scrap rates, and overall customer satisfaction. This is a hands-on, onsite position in Jefferson WI.

Must be at least 18 years of age and must be legally authorized to work in the United States (US) on a permanent basis without visa sponsorship. No relocation expenses provided.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Promotes and contributes to the growth and profitability of Basin Precision Machining LLC.
  • Manage, mentor, and offer guidance to team members, including scheduling, planning, performance reviews, education, certification, and disciplinary action.
  • Coordinate with production and other departments to maximize product quality and minimize costs.
  • Maintain ISO 9001:2015 certification, the QMS system, and other certifications as required.
  • Apply total quality management tools and analytical reporting processes.
  • Manage disposition of suspect material to scrap, rework, and returns in a timely manner.
  • Participate in advance product quality planning (APQP) for new product development.
  • Ensure a high level of internal and external customer service.
  • Investigate and correct customer issues and complaints relating to quality.
  • Maintain corrective and preventative actions.
  • Visit and consult with customers and/or suppliers.
  • Ensure proper calibration and programming of quality tools such as CMM and gauges.
  • Maintain active role in continuous improvement efforts.
  • Formulate, document, and maintain quality procedures and on-going quality objectives.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university in a related field. Minimum of five years’ experience in a manufacturing environment leading or managing a quality department. Equivalent combinations of education and experience are acceptable.
COMPUTER SKILLS: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of: ERP Systems, MS Office, and data analysis software. Plex ERP, Minitab, PiWeb, and Calypso experience preferred.
OTHER SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND QUALIFICATIONS: Professional certifications in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering or Quality (ASQ Certifications a plus). Six Sigma certified, preferably Black Belt. Strong employee relations skills, including coaching and communication. Working Knowledge of Root Cause/Corrective Action Analysis, ISO Standards, and Cause and Effect Diagrams.
