Dawn's Inspire Internship Program offers students a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the dynamic world of the Global Bakery Industry. With over 100 years of expertise, Dawn provides a platform for interns to experience our vibrant company culture, embrace our core values, and gain valuable knowledge for their future careers. The Quality Intern will support the North America Corporate Quality functional department at Dawn Foods while working in one of the core manufacturing facilities and contributing to the team's goals and objectives. As an intern you will gain a broad understanding of quality systems within manufacturing process including knowledge about specifications, test methodology, and analytical reporting.
Dawn Inspire Internship Program interns will benefit from:

This is a full-time position, working a combination on-site and hybrid based out of our Louisville, Kentucky location. Travel will be required during the initial week (5/20) and the concluding week (8/5) of the internship.
Please be aware that this internship opportunity does not provide relocation assistance. Candidates who are not currently local to the Louisville area are expected to independently cover their living expenses for the duration of the internship.
What Does It Take to be an Intern at Dawn Foods?
Below are the minimum qualifications for the Dawn Inspire Internship Program.

  • Must be a Junior or Senior pursuing a bachelor's degree, with an interest in working in the Consumer Product Goods or Food Industry.
  • Completion of sophomore level credits.
  • Current academic status must reflect good performance in relation to institutional academic standards.
  • Proficiency with MS office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to perform tests including pH, aw, Viscosity, Brix, texture, particle size, etc.
  • Basic knowledge of relevant concepts, principles, and tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Eagerness to learn and take on new challenges.
  • Adaptability and willingness to embrace feedback and eagerness to learn and take on new challenges.

What You'll Do as an Intern

  • Conduct research on assigned topics and present findings to the team.
  • Collaborate with team members to brainstorm ideas and contribute to problem-solving efforts.
  • Shadow and learn from experienced professionals in your field of interest.
  • Actively seek opportunities to learn and develop new skills relevant to your career goals.
  • Take initiative to suggest process improvements and contribute innovative ideas.
  • Demonstrate the "Dawn Values" of Team Dawn and support our culture throughout the duration of the Internship Program.
  • Identified projects that you will be responsible for:
    • Validation, data trending, and data analysis
    • Create, update, and write procedures for lab testing equipment.
    • Analytical reports

  • Required to use motor coordination with arm, hand, finger, and leg dexterity.
  • Required to exert physical effort in handling objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Normal setting for this job is manufacturing laboratory environment.
  • All PPE requirements are to be worn while inside the Plant (hairnets/safety boots/ smock must be worn)


Note: The level of physical effort may vary from site to site and in some cases be greater or lesser than documented here.
Compensation:
Undergraduate - $24/hr
Graduate - $26/hr
