Malwarebytes is looking for a collaborative, motivated, and inspiring individual to join our engineering team as a QE Manager.  

The ideal candidate is someone who likes to wear the customer hat, is a strong advocate of quality and enjoys collaborating in a multiple-project environment with a “can do” attitude. 

You will guide a talented team of software quality engineers and SDETs, own the end-to-end quality strategy for key products and services across desktop and mobile apps, backend services, and data/ML pipelines. 


What You Will Do:

Be quality focused 

  • Act as a key advocate for embedding a Culture of Quality across all facets of development, promoting shared ownership and accountability. 
  • Promote a "shift-left" mindset by helping identify and resolve issues earlier in the development cycle and provide solutions when this isn’t occurring. 
  • Conduct end-to-end deep dives including root cause analysis into operational processes to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and defect trends. 

Build strategy and collaboration 

  • Define and execute the overall test strategy for Malwarebytes software and platforms. 
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Development, Product and Research teams to align on test objectives and quality standard. 
  • Partner with Customer Support to proactively address known quality concerns and better understand user pain points from live environments. 
  • Collaborate with wider leadership to share visibility of new features and their potential impact across vertical groups, ensuring alignment and awareness. 
  • Work with the roadmap to secure adequate QE time for planned features, advocating for realistic timelines that meet quality standards. 

Lead the team 

  • Lead and mentor a high-performing software test team. Driving culture of technical excellence, ownership, and continuous improvement. 
  • Manage QE team members within your vertical group, supporting their growth through Individual Development Plans, Key Performance Objectives, and regular 1:1s. 
  • Lead the recruitment and onboarding efforts for QE roles within your vertical group and support hiring for QE positions across the wider team. 
  • Provide hands-on testing support as needed within your verticality and across the team, staying closely connected to in-development features and ensuring high-quality releases. 

Skills You'll Need to Have:

  • 10+ years of work experience in software testing. 
  • 5+ years of work experience leading software testing efforts and team in a product-driven environment. 
  • Strong knowledge of testing methodologies and hands-on experience with structured testing approaches. 
  • Excellent verbal / written communication skills and leadership skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams. 
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to effectively advocate for your team’s needs, while maintaining a clear understanding of business priorities to ensure balanced, mutually beneficial outcomes. 
  • Flexible to an agile setup with the ability to multitask, managing coverage for multiple high-profile releases with strict deadlines. 
  • Strong time management, accountability and organisational skills. 
  • Exceptional reporting capabilities. 


Nice to Have Skills: 

  • Experience in the security domain. 
  • Experience with LLMs and AI-driven dev/test tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor). 
  • Understanding of cloud-based application deployments and troubleshooting. 
  • Experience with testing frameworks and technologies like Playwright, Mocha, PyTest, JUnit, Cypress, Selenium, Appium, etc. 
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and web-based UI Automation
