- Advocating and upholding the standards, industry-leading practices and protocols outlined in the quality assurance and testing framework;
- Participating actively in reviews of user stories (functional and technical), identifying and helping bridge gaps in requirements particularly around use-cases and workflows (considers happy path, alternate paths, user-error, system-error workflows);
- Working closely with the Product Managers to obtain a thorough understanding of the application and the business being supported by the application;
- Working closely with the Solution Architect/ Technical Lead to understand the technical approach, technical specifications, non-functional requirements that are integral to the software application;
- Authoring Agile test plans and requirements traceability by confirming testing depth (# of test cases) and breadth (types of test cases) are commensurate with the number of story points/ complexity and effort intensiveness of the functionalities being developed and tested;
- Collaborating with the team to determine accuracy in estimation of user stories, creation of standardized and/or specific QA tasks to help justify estimations;
- Displaying proficiency in the use of tools like JIRA, Azure DevOps. Confirming that the test cases are tied in with user stories. Managing test-set peer reviews, test plan reviews, execution of test runs, logs and actively seeks quick resolution of bugs based on their severity and priority. Participating in daily stand-up meetings, retrospectives, drives continuous improvement from conducting RCA (Root Cause Analysis) of production bugs;
- Offering UAT support as needed. Maintaining primary ownership of the QA environment(s), test data creation and working closely with Test Automation Engineers and Performance/Load Testers;
- Maintaining transparency and predictability for the release by sharing test summary reports at the end of each sprint;
- Conducting regular reviews of quality assurance metrics such as DRE (Defect Removal Efficiency), test automation coverage, functional test coverage, and alerts the QA leader to any critical dependencies, risks or constraints and recommends remediation steps;
- Collaborating with the DevOps engineering team to integrate the automated test suite into the CI/CD pipeline;
- Communicating dependencies, risks, constraints to the team and actively seeking resolution;
- Leading teams in a dynamic work environment while managing stakeholder expectations and scope;
- Working as part of Scrum/Kanban Agile teams in a multi-pod fast paced environment;
- Working with team members across multiple locations/timezones; and,
- Understanding and leveraging Test Automation Engineering tools, techniques and methodologies with specialized knowledge of Selenium, Java/Python, Robot Framework, JMeter, and mobile platform testing tools.
