Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Engineering and Program Manager to join our BDS Fabrication Quality Organization in Berkeley, MO!
We are seeking an enthusiastic, proactive, detail-oriented, and highly organized change agent to lead our Composites Center of Excellence (CoE) quality team, including Quality Engineering, Quality Specialists, and Quality Assurance personnel.
The successful candidate will be responsible for upholding the highest quality standards while being people-focused, mentoring, developing, and honing the skills of highly skilled technical and quality professionals to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Position Responsibilities:
- Lead teams engaged in quality engineering, quality inspection, and technical activities across all phases of the product lifecycle to ensure consistent quality and compliance.
- Develop and evaluate quality cost and price proposals, along with comprehensive business cases, to support informed decision-making and ensure alignment with BDS Fabrication Quality strategic objectives and business partner needs.
- Formulate and implement quality strategies and plans that support new business acquisition and the successful execution of program and business objectives.
- Provide education and coaching to promote understanding and effective execution of the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Acquire and manage resources effectively, deliver quality technical management, and drive continuous performance improvements.
- Enhance the quality skills of team members and their practical application to maintain a robust Quality Operating System and foster personnel development.
- Build and sustain strong relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, suppliers, and direct reports to promote collaboration and alignment.
- Supervise the review of technical information to ensure product quality, manufacturability, and compliance with requirements.
- Manage, develop, and motivate employees to achieve high performance and professional growth.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR completion of the Boeing internal course "Exploring Leadership.
- Bachelor's Degree
- 3+ years of experience working with quality systems (e.g., Boeing Quality Management System (BQMS), International Organization for Standardization (ISO9001), Aerospace Standard (AS9100)
- 3+ years of experience in quality/ manufacturing processes, leading process improvements, utilizing formal, systematic tools such as Root Cause and Corrective Action, Lean improvement techniques or Six Sigma: example reducing improving quality and delivery and reduced cycle time
- 1+ years of experience developing and maintaining relationships and partnerships with stakeholders (i.e. customers, suppliers, peers and/or partners)
- Proficiency and experience working with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- 3+ years of experience as a Quality Engineer
- Demonstrated skills in team building, systematic problem solving and ethical leadership
- Experience communicating and/or coaching operators, peers and leadership on various aspects of a quality system, compliance, and requirements
- 3+ years of experience in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
