The Quality Engineer is responsible for working with the suppliers, customers and internal stakeholders to lead and facilitate quality improvements and resolving issues that lead to the achievement of Quality and Business target.
Role Responsibilities:
This role entails but is not limited to;
- Lead, coach and mentor Shift Quality Technicians and Shift Quality Auditors in setting daily priorities and being a point of contact on shift
- Support PPAP and launch of all programs, engineering changes & GP12 Activities in liaison with NPI (Safe Launch Process)
- Coordinate Capability studies and gauge validation (Measurement System Analysis)
- Review CAD drawings and understand the application requirements in conjunctions with customer standards and dimensional reports
- Carry out updates to Process Documentation – Standardised Work Instructions, Process Quality Records, Quality Alerts etc. Escalation of all quality concerns
- Perform Quality audits as deemed necessary
- Support the escalation, containment and analysis on internal and customer quality issues
- Meet all commitments – confront and escalate issues in a timely manner
- Demonstrate experience in MES Quality management system
- Provide technical and administrative support as needed
- Implement strategies to support lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement
- Promote the companies HSE policies across the department and plant
- Perform any other ad hoc duties as required
EXPERIENCE :
Essential
- Quality experience within a shopfloor manufacturing environment
- Understanding of manufacturing engineering with respect to one or more of these areas: die casting, metal forming, automated assembly, mechanisms, tooling fixtures and gauges
- Understanding of Quality Tools (SPC, MSA, PPAP, Control plans, Process Flows, 8D Methodologies)
- Proficient in and learning the Business Operating Systems (IATF 16949)
- Clear communication skills and proven reporting at all levels of the business
Desirable
-Leadership experience within a shopfloor manufacturing environment
-Understanding of manufacturing engineering with respect to one or more of these areas: die casting, metal forming, automated assembly, mechanisms, tooling fixtures and gauges
-Green Belt qualified or equivalent experience
-Experience in Quality Management system, procedures and work instructions
-Conduction Internal Quality Audits
