POSITION SUMMARY:

The function of the Quality Engineer is to perform a variety of engineering assignments with key stakeholders designed to facilitate the control and improvement of product quality.

 MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma/GED or vocational school equivalent.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited engineering program or related four-year degree.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in a high-precision CNC machining and/or assembly environment.
• Experience in an ISO 9001-certified facility.
• Experience with root cause analysis, corrective actions, and leading multidisciplinary problem-solving efforts.
• Strong analytical, mathematical, organizational, communication, and technical writing skills.
• Proficiency with Minitab, Power BI, or similar quality/data analysis tools.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and GD&T.
• Knowledge of process capability (Cp/Cpk), process stability, and statistical process control.
• Understanding of precision machine shop production techniques and processes.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and effectively communicate with internal teams, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification and ASQ CQE certification preferred.
• Knowledge of firearms and firearm manufacturing is a plus.

 JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: 

• Apply strong knowledge of quality systems to develop, maintain, and continuously improve processes and products, ensuring compliance with internal, customer, and ISO 9001 requirements while supporting annual business goals 
• Collaborate with design engineering, process engineering, manufacturing, sales, customer service, and purchasing teams to resolve issues related to customer complaints, product design, specifications, materials, tooling, and production quality 
• Develop and maintain quality control plans incorporating statistical process control, analysis, and reporting of results and trends 
• Maintain and improve the quality program to ensure conformity of purchased materials and components 
• Manage supplier quality assurance qualification, evaluation, and ongoing performance monitoring 
• Partner with engineering teams to establish quality procedures and guidelines for new products 
• Review existing products and develop or update quality assurance procedures and related documentation 
• Establish and maintain inspection criteria, inspection reports, and inspection procedures 
• Implement quality assurance procedures during pre-production and production startup phases 
• Work closely with production supervisors to communicate and enforce quality requirements 
• Prepare reports and maintain accurate quality records and documentation 
• Conduct internal audits and prepare audit reports 
• Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by leadership
