As a Quality Engineer you will be responsible for ensuring full compliance with the Baker Hughes Quality Management System (QMS) and all applicable customer requirements. This role covers mainly activities executed internally by Baker Hughe site.
The successful candidate will lead the assessment and verification of technical requirements through product and process auditing, implementation of effective controls, and daily problem‑solving (main focus). The quality engineer will drive quality performance by preparing and analyzing quality reports and metrics, identifying improvement opportunities, and supporting corrective and preventive actions. In this role, the engineer is expected to promote a culture of continuous improvement across flexible pipes fabrication, assembly of connectors, and product validation processes.

As a Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for:
Tooling Preparation & Quality Control
Ability to develop and maintain tooling preparation workflows aligned with operational standards.
Support with calibration control, tracking certificates, and ensuring compliance with corporate and industry requirements.
Familiarity with NDT methods (e.g., VT, MT, PT, UT, RT) and acceptance criteria.
Support tooling QC, including verification, dimensional inspection, and readiness checks prior to operations.
Inspection Company support
Ability to review and validate Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) and inspection procedures used by third‑party vendors.
Support third‑party inspection companies, quality performance oversight, and compliance audits.
Provide technical support to inspectors, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
External Inspection & Process Validation
Competence in witnessing and validating vendor inspection processes, ensuring they meet company specifications, industry codes, and regulatory requirements.
Ability to support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (RCA, CAPA) when vendor or internal inspections fail (work/ support RE).
Experience validating tool recertification, maintenance records, and MOC (Management of Change) updates.
Process Updates for Guyana Operations
Ability to assess current QC processes and identify gaps, inefficiencies, and risks.
Experience updating, improving, or developing new SOPs, work instructions, and QC workflows.
Strong understanding of local Guyana operational needs, logistics constraints, and vendor capabilities.
Ability to support regional readiness plans as operations scale.
To be successful in this role you will:
Possess minimum of 5 years of experience in quality or other areas within supply chain (within oil and gas or subsea projects is preferred).
Possess expertise in Quality and/or Product and/or regulations is needed.
Have experience in quality tools for developing improvement actions (A3, 8D, 5whys, fishbone diagram, FMEA, 5S, Lean Six-Sigma).
Have fluency in English.
Desired Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Engineering is preferred for this role.
Experience at manufacturing processes (including special processes) and product validation methods such as Fabrication, Dimensional, Painting, Welding and NDT.
Experience in Quality and product requirement audits. Experience at ISO 9001 and API Q2.
Green Belt certificate in Lean Six Sigma.
