Working under the guidance of senior Quality Engineers, the Quality Engineer I contributes to maintaining product compliance, strengthening process control, and supporting audit readiness while gaining exposure to customer and FAA requirements. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Quality Assurance (QA) documentation and basic quality engineering tasks.
  • Perform inspection support and verification activities under supervision.
  • Assist in generating dispositions for nonconforming work tags (WTs) and provide basic support to the Material Review Board (MRB) under guidance of senior engineers.
  • Support First Article Inspection (FAI) planning and execution, including data collection, dimensional verification, and documentation validation.
  • Learn and apply Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA) tools; assist with investigations by gathering objective evidence and documenting corrective actions.
  • Participate in Corrective Action Board (CAB) meetings as an observer or contributing member.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and help identify opportunities to reduce defects, streamline processes, and strengthen compliance.
  • Utilize SAP/MES systems for work order tracking, documentation updates, nonconformance tagging, and planning validation.
  • Assist in reviewing and updating work instructions, standard operating procedures, and quality documentation.
  • Help prepare materials and collect records for internal audits and external customer/FAA assessments.
  • Participate in internal audits, FAA compliance reviews, and customer process audits.
  • Assist with planning, readiness activities, and corrective action follow-up associated with audit events.
  • Attend customer-facing and regulatory meetings as a representative, observer, or meeting recorder.
  • Perform daily walk-downs with inspection and operations teams to verify process adherence and accurate documentation.
  • Provide timely feedback on quality issues, assist with containment actions, and help validate rework or repair activity.
  • Support on-the-floor investigations of nonconforming parts in partnership with senior Quality Engineers and Operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or 4 years of equivalent experience in quality engineering, manufacturing, or related technical fields.
  • Basic understanding of aerospace drawings, specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.

Maintain steady hand-eye coordination. Reach in all directions and in potentially awkward positions.
