Job Purpose:
Develops, implements, and coordinates product and process quality assurance programs to prevent or eliminate defects in new or existing products.
Essential Job Functions:

  • Facilitate the quality assurance activities, establishing and using systems and procedures that maintain product quality and productivity.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action for process and product related concerns.
  • Assist Quality Manager in establishing, implementing, and maintaining the quality management system.
  • Develop training to build quality awareness.
  • Interface with Engineering, Purchasing, Suppliers, and Operations to ensure transfer to production of new products that are in accordance with the approved requirements (PPAP's, Control Plans, Cpk studies, etc.).
  • Develop and implement methods and procedures for disposition of non-conforming material and devises methods to assess cost and responsibility.
  • Analyze customer complaint data, then work with cross-functional team to develop and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Responsible for continuous improvement activities to enhance the quality system, such as 6 sigma, Kaizen, Lean methods, etc.
  • Support other Quality team members to ensure that products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the quality management system.
  • Conduct process and product audits, including closing out audit findings, creating audit finding reports and determining proper corrective and preventive actions.
  • Develop and recommend inspection and sampling techniques and procedures to ensure the production of finished products meet engineering specification and quality standards.
  • Create and maintain quality documentation, such as quality procedures, work instructions, and control plans.
  • Prepare QA reports.
  • Leverage data analytics to make strategic and tactical business decisions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications and Skills Needed:
Required

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent knowledge obtained through 5 or more years of related work experience.
  • PC, Word, Excel, CAD/CAM knowledge.
  • CMM knowledge, preferred experience with Calypso and/or PC-DMIS.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, attention to detail and problem solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite especially Outlook.


Preferred

  • Strong working knowledge of measuring instruments, geometric dimensional and tolerance and statistical software.
  • CQE, CRE/CQA or equivalent, Six Sigma or Lean MFG, ISO 9000 experience/environment.
  • Thorough understanding of SPC and its application quality assurance in an ISO 9000 environment.
  • ASQ certified Quality Engineer


Working Conditions:
Will be working primarily on production floor. Work area can be excessively noisy.
