Summary Generated by Built In

At Aeon, we develop advanced missile systems, built for ground and air platforms. We take pride in our dynamic team that allows us to iterate, build and test quickly. If you are looking to solve hard problems with a passionate team in a hands-on, fast-paced environment, Aeon is the place for you.

We are a vertically integrated defense manufacturer developing and producing advanced strike systems and critical subsystems at industrial scale for major defense programs. From its 140,000-square-foot manufacturing facility, Aeon will bring weapon design and production under one roof, including propulsion, fuzing, autonomy and other critical subsystems. Led by former special operators, senior government officials and experienced aerospace and defense engineers, Aeon is a trusted partner to U.S. government customers and industry.

We are looking for a Quality Engineer to help build a world-class manufacturing organization as we transition from new product introduction (NPI) and development into full-rate production of complex guided-munition subassemblies and final assemblies. Reporting to the Vice President of Manufacturing, you will play a key role in establishing and strengthening the quality systems required to meet ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards. Our goal is to first build validated working practices and then formalize them into procedure.

As a true builder, you will work closely with supply chain, manufacturing, and product engineering teams to move products from concept through production readiness while developing robust processes for corrective action, measurement system validation, inspection, calibration management, and continuous improvement in a rapidly growing and evolving environment.

This is a full-time, in-person role located in Austin, TX with plans to move to Cedar Park, TX early 2027.

What you’ll do at Aeon:

  • Support risk assessment within PFMEA (review/co-ownership alongside Manufacturing Engineering's process ownership) and validation of Control Plans.
  • Lead measurement system analysis and validation (DFQ) — determining whether inspection methods for a given design are defined and capable
  • Develop and maintain the nonconformance and corrective action process, including formal, auditable corrective action records for build/process failures
  • Establish incoming quality inspection for purchased components
  • Build outgoing/final inspection and test processes
  • Support IQ/OQ/PQ qualification activities for new processes and equipment
  • Establish the stage-gate development process, and then participate in new product gate reviews, ensuring quality/measurement readiness is met at each exit criterion
  • Drive the organization's path toward AS9100 compliance, building validated working practices first and formalizing them into procedure
  • Support first-article inspection (FAI) and post-exit production monitoring where full capability studies aren't yet feasible

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Quality, Mechanical, Industrial)

    • Six Sigma Green Belt

    • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer certification, or equivalent

    • Experience with PFMEA, control plans, and measurement systems analysis (Gage R&R, etc.)

    • Experience building or operating within a formal corrective action / nonconformance system

    • Comfortable establishing systems and discipline in a rapidly-growing organization

While it’s not required, it would be an added plus if you have:

    • Six Sigma Black Belt

    • ASQ CMQ/OE (Ceretified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence)

    • Aerospace/defense industry experience

    • AS9100 auditing or implementation experience

    • Familiarity with IQ/OQ/PQ qualification protocols

What We Offer:

Fully Company-Sponsored Health Benefits: Enjoy comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage at no cost to you, including coverage for eligible dependents, plus HSA and FSA options.

Team Events & Company Celebrations: Connect with colleagues through team-building activities, employee events, and celebrations.

Complimentary Daily Lunches: Enjoy company provided lunches served onsite each workday.

Snacks & Beverages: Enjoy complementary snacks, drinks, and refreshments available throughout the workday.

Equal Employment Opportunity & Disclaimer:

Requires U.S. person status under ITAR (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected non‑citizen such as refugee/asylee) due to access to ITAR‑controlled defense articles or technical data.
