Overview

Provides the Quality Department with engineering resources to meet the QMS objectives for product quality supplied to customers and received from suppliers.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct supplier audits to qualify and evaluate new and existing suppliers.
  • Supports incoming inspection and communicates with suppliers regarding SCARS and other
  • Develop Critical suppliers on quality system improvements.
  • Contribute to supply chain risk assessments and score cards.
  • Reviews customers requirements, standards, special inspection gauging requirements, and completeness of specifications as they relate to vendor supplied materials.
  • Determines inspection processes and inspection device capabilities and identifies areas for
  • Works with a wide variety of gages, instruments, and inspection devices including manual / hand measurement
  • Works with Process Engineering to develop appropriate data collection techniques for product/process
  • Conducts First Article Inspection of components as Reviews and documents First Articles from Suppliers with Engineering.
  • Documents departmental and work
  • Assists in the training of individuals in inspection methods and
  • Reviews root causes and corrective actions in response to supplier issues in cooperation with Process Engineering, Purchasing, and Manufacturing to ensure on-time delivery.
  • 15-25% travel for vendor visits and audits

 

Qualifications
  • Two years related experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, Electrical Engineer or similar field.
  • Five or more years related experience in a manufacturing environment with experience supporting quality
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience dealing with suppliers and ability to understand
  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple tasks and projects and effectively coordinate deadlines related to projects and assignments with various parties involved

Additional Training Requirements

Working knowledge of print and specification interpretation. Hands on experience measuring with various gages and tools. Working knowledge of SPC, Gage Design, equipment qualification, and Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility Studies. Experience in product and process audits. Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 Quality Management System.


Safety Requirements : (list Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), risk/working hazards, exposure to chemicals etc.)

  • Safety glasses and safety shoes in required areas
  • Adhere to specific PPE requirements if working in production areas, which may include chemical protective PPE.

This position is located at our SOUTHBRIDGE, MA. facility.


The salary range for this exempt position is $82,000 - $112,000 and represents the minimum and maximum for the position.  The actual range will vary based upon factors including but not limited to: prior experience, knowledge, skill and education as they relate to the position's qualifications and internal equity.
