Our client is seeking a Quality Engineer for their Charleston, South Carolina facility.

As the Quality Engineer, you will use your Strong interpersonal skills and presentation skills to maintain successful quality relationships with suppliers and customers through proactive activities and problem resolution. You will act as the suppliers’ and customers’ main quality interface. This includes managing assigned suppliers’ and customers’ satisfaction metrics while implementing successful corrective/preventive actions, and leading teams in quality improvement initiatives.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Supplier / Customer quality contact for assigned production areas including Non-Conforming Material Report (NCMR), Corrective Action (CAR), and Supplier Corrective Action (SCAR) resolution
Customer/Supplier Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) coordination and submittal/approval.
Participate in cross-functional problem solving teams (CIP) and lead teams in quality improvement initiatives.
Conduct/Lead designed experiments, capability study analysis, and Measurement System Analysis (MSA).
Aid in component and tooling/fixture design and improvement.
Gaging, testing, and inspection of materials.
Update company quality documents on an as needed basis. This includes Process Flow, PFMEA, and Control Plan documents.
Conduct quality-related training of company personnel.
Provide direction to Quality Technicians as needed.
Ability and willingness to travel 25%.

Qualifications

Four year Engineering degree preferred; BSME preferred.
Experience working in a QS-9000/TS-16949 environment.
Strong background in statistics a plus.
